As far as I can tell Sampson's remarks were with regards to the Rockets pace leading to easy baskets on the other end.

Sampson sure doesn't appear to be a huge fan of the Rockets high pace on offense. I guess he won't coach the Rockets anytime soon. :p

please bring back Jeff VAn Gundy, this is a very promising young team. With current coach, we have no way to go in the future. Our fans just waste our time to watch it.

Also interesting, he also seemed to imply they want the point guard to get assists first and points second; and that that was not what was happening in the second mavs game for Lin, but it was for Beverly.

Honestly, the record for the team is better when Lin scores more. This is because he is a natural combo guard and needs to score first and pass second. He's getting better at passing but it messes with his game when he defers to other people.

Where did you get 25 win from? Let's say we win 43 games. Do seriously believe Harden is 18 wins better than KMart??

The Rockets have won a good number of close games. K-Mart is a poor 4th quarter performer and is incapable of creating his own shot.

During the span of the whole game, K-Mart also does not draw double teams nor does he have court vision to find the open man.

The gap between Harden and K-Mart is pretty significant.

I estimate it's about 5-6 games upgrade but 18-win gap? Even LeBron is not 18 win better. Get real!

His PnR defense on Mayo in crunch time was pathetic.

    I think it's around a 10 game difference.

You think this team would still be chasing playoffs without Harden?

Mess! What are these boys doing in practice?
After every practice they keep talking about focusing entirely on defense and they've only managed to get WORSE as the season goes by, how is that possible?
The first half of the (@home) Mavs game was the epitome of this team's horrendous defense.

    You are off topic.

I quoted a poster who said Rockets will win 25 games without Harden trade. Now we are estimated to win at least 43 games, probably 45 by my estimation. Even with your 10 game difference, the math still doesnt add up.

    25 + 10 = 35

What happened to that 8-10 games?

I never said anything about 25 wins. My point from the beginning was the difference in impact between K-Mart and Harden is very significant, and in my opinion it's at least around 10 games.

We won't be chasing playoffs without Harden.

So you agree 25 wins is exaggerated number? Lets leave it at that.

We would be Phoenix Suns with K-Mart instead of Harden. So a 25-30 win doesn't seem too implausible.

The Difference between Martin and Harden this year is about 5 WS, if they trade places Houston would be more like Dallas/ Portland instead of Phoniex / Kings

As much as Harden is that much of an upgrade, the 10 win significance between KMart and Harden is pretty major. That would be Lebron/Dwight level of contribution to the team. Analyst say how much the players worth usually is a good estimate on their win contributions. 10 more win against KMart means he'll be worth 10 mil more than KMart. Sometimes I really think you guys overestimate too much. I've watched Harden all his career and he is definitely a max player, but his win contributions for the team should be around 13-15 in total (which is what a MAX player should contribute, also why Lebron is severely underpaid). If KMart was on the team, he would contribute to around 8 at max, which gives -7 games for the Rox.

But then again, you'd never know because of other players' variables.

You didn't say 25 but now you are saying 25-30 is plausible? ok...

when Vegas first came out with betting line, it had 33 games pre-trade, and post-trade, it was up to 38.

7-game upgrade from KMart to Harden is reasonable and about right with how he exceeded expectation, not like some people who love to exaggerate. Yes, Rockets over-achieved for the season but it definitely not all on Harden.
