McHale just doesn't feel comfortable with PGs' game. I think this has something to do with him being a PF as a player. He tries to reduce the ball handling of his PGs which works poorly most of the time during the season, and he is embarrassed when his starting PG facilitates Rockets' offense (thanks to Harden) and blows out opponents.

I'm really confused by the "this is Clutch fans, not Lin fans" statement. My questions:

    1. Will Heat fans be satisfied if Heat is just 8th seed in playoff? No, because Heat is a team supposed to win championship. Same for Rockets, based on several games Rockets played, they should at least have better records than Warriors. I can't understand why Rockets played totally different style in many games they lost.

    2. In those games Rockets won, what exactly did McHale do? Leaving players who are doing well on court? Anything else? And looking at what Lin/Beverley did in the Mavs game, McHale's "doing well" is questionable at least.

    3. As a Rockets' fan, what makes you happy, winning a few games every season, then first round maybe?

I, as a Rockets fan and Lin fan, expect Rockets to have a long-term plan to win championship, this includes trading for superstars, developing player who has potential, and developing team chemistry/tactics/style. Playing "bench" players in entire 4th quarter is not part of it.

Lin should be an important player in Rockets' long-term plan, unless Morey has plan to get a top 5 PG. I think he should handle the ball like Westbrook does in OKC. We may see many turnovers from him, but overall Rockets will develop faster to an elite team.

McHale just makes way too many stupid decisions, not just benching Lin.

If you look at the numbers, they show that Parsons and Asik shoot less, Delfino stays the same, and only Harden shoots more. Altogether the four of them shoot 50.3 attempts overall, and 50.8 when he is on the bench. OK, four guys put together shoot 0.5 more shots when Lin is on the bench.

I've been watching the rockets since 2000. The only thing that frustrates me this season is the lack of play calling at crucial moments. I don't care that K-Mac likes to go with the hot hand, but come on! We had a FULL shot clock and the best play we could run was a harden 1 on 4 iso? That reminded me of the days when lebron was in Cleveland and Mike Brown's horrible play calls.

Oh and it absolutely pisses me off that Mchale benches Omer Asik. Where are the Aof's? Seriously this guy had a double double in 25 min and you bench him?!??!?! Why not play T-Rob at the four and have Omer guard the rim?

I mean i know there were times that i disagreed with the coach decision's (adleman's insistence on playing battier some games) and Van-gundy's hideous offense. But for some reason the mismanagement in critical moments in this season has stuck out for me.

Hopefully coach learns how to balance our line-ups better because the way we are set up now we are just gonna get PUMMELED in the playoffs.

I think most Rockets fans would agree that championships are the ultimate goal. I also believe that McHale wants to build a championship team, and is in the process of working towards that in his capacity as head coach. Although some people may believe that what's good for Lin and his career, is also good for the Rockets, it's completely within coach McHale's purview to make whatever tactical decisions he deems best on a game by game basis. Sometimes that has meant substitutions which do not favor Lin.

So far this season, coach McHale has a 33-29 record, with the Rockets sitting in 7th. The team chemistry is good. Players are developing and some are excelling. We have an explosive offense. We have the kind of team which fans from many other cities would love to have as their own.

Did all of this happen in spite of McHale, or in part because of his leadership as head coach?

No kidding. Can't believe McHale insisted on playing Delfino at the 4 and T-Rob at the 5 instead of having the 2nd leading rebounder and our best defender on the court.

The shoot more with Lin is on the bench? I clearly see two players shooting less with lin on the bench :p

Mchale loves to have Delfino at the 4 on defense and equal time as the 1 on offense. That's more McFail for you. You can make a whole blooper reel full of mchale's decisions this season and I will if the Rox fall out of the playoffs.

I would have agreed with you, if you had replied to a single post, or multiple posts, specifically. This you Lin fans and us Rockets fans thing is getting very tiring, because those 2 groups are not mutually exclusive.

It really shouldn't be about posters. LOF or LOH, if he/she has point, he/she has a point.

Please realize that a lot of the more crazy "LOFs" are actually trolls and haters. They pretend to be LOFs simply to upset others.

    So don't fall for it.

It's sad to see so many reasonable people fall for troll bait.

If you see a post that's to crazy or outlandish, then please realize it's a troll and just ignore it.

I live in NYC. I hate the Knicks. But was a Lin fan when he was in NYC. Guess you could say for a bit I was a LOF Knicks fan last year. I was stoked when he was traded to Houston. Stoked!

Dude, Lin is a better player today then last year. By far and away. If you can't see that he isn't developing as a point guard, you don't know basketball. His decision making is so much better now then back then.

I see the players are growing individually - and that's what is needed right now. I am not sure McHale is the long term solution either, but for the short-term, he's done pretty well. Keep in mind this is a very young and inexperienced team, you can only teach them so much at a time. two steps forward, one step back. Youth.

Is asking for a little respect for the vets here so much to ask? Really???

Here's some wisdom for ya: Don't get caught up on a few games. Look at the arc of the season. I do think Lin and Asik should have played, but I do understand his rationale. It wasn't crazy, it was just surprising.

I never addressed "Lin fans" - I addressed "Lin Only Fans". Big difference.

I am sure there are some trolls, but too many for them to all be trolls. Look, if it applies to you read what I said, if it doesn't move along.

IMO some of the vets here are more annoying than a lot of the Lin fans.

When Lin fans get angry about Lin being mis-used or unfairly treated, they usually just point fingers at Rox coaches.

Somehow it upsets the helll out of some vets, what they usually do is either trolling heavily or name-calling other fans with a condescending attitude.

IMO, that is the real polution of this forum. Any BBS will have garbage posts almost every day, but name-calling, labeling other ppl "XOF" and attacking other groups because they like certain players are much worse, it causes bad blood between fans and makes them hate each other.

Who are you to dictate how other ppl should support their teams and players, anyway?

The thing that gets really annoying is when even some Lin fans decide to argue that Lin was misused or whatever even when we WIN. This happens a few games ago, we had won yet there was still like 50 pages of a bunch of whining and arguing between fans.
