Mchale's postgame response is much worse than his rotation.

He is telling people this is not his fault.
    And will do it again.

oh brother. Before the end of the season, Lin will be back to where he was with the Rockets before Linsanity hit lol $8.3MM... there is no hope for even a trade.

What? Come on, don't feed those conspiracy theories. What could possibly be going on that would justify such speculation?

Isn't it much more logical/simpler to assume that McHale is just a bad in-game coach?

huh? He is bad in sub for a reason, its not just random mumbo jumbo. If he thinks Lin is better than Beverly he would have put Lin in at crunch time after Beverly did his defense thing and all, because he just trusts Lin more. Now the reality is, he doesn't. He would and should never do that with Chandler, at some point it goes from a conspiracy theory to reality, it is just plain simple fact that he doesnt think Lin is that good. And why is it that controversial, they did cut Lin after all, his comments about Lin, his interview after Linsanity, Brooks signing etc. are all indicative of that. Why is it so hard for you guys to just see and admit this.

You have no conclusive evidence. You're just speculating based off ambiguous statements. But let's keep the discussion closer to actual mistakes rather than trying to determine McHale's intent/state of mind since that's an impossible task.

I think we should wait until the playoffs before we start trying to speculate whether Mchale does or doesn't trust Lin. In the post season you play your best players big minutes. Asik should see a lot of play time. Lin should see a lot of playing time. Harden & Parsons will continue as they are.

In the post seeason there is none of this rewarding players, or playing guys with energy nonsense. You play your starters, the best players or the guys you trust the most.

In the regular season there are a lot of other factors. In the playoffs it is none of that.

Maybe McHale played beverly because he thinks Brooks will get more burn as back up in the final stretch of games. Who knows.

Just wait until the post season, that is best when you see a coaches state of mind & you can parse the good coaches from the bad coaches.

You will NEVER get conclusive facts of McHale's intent/state of mind, but if you are a coach who thinks Lin is better than Beverly and still chose a tired Beverly to close out the game, you are an idiot. Ambiguous? Its only ambiguous because YOU guys are muddying up with speculation as to what McHale MIGHT have meant instead of what he clearly said. "RATHER" is not an ambiguous word.

I don't dispute the likelihood that McHale is an idiot. I don't hate him - but I'm not a fan either.

That said, nothing he's said so far definitively indicates he has some strange bias against Lin. Some of his actions might imply such bias - but again that's trying to read into his state of mind. I'd rather not do that. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Each game is different, you know that right? I've seen Brook Lopez benched in the fourth. I've seen Amar'e and Melo benched in the 4th. I've seen Pau Gasol benched in the 4th. I've seen Kobe benched in the 4th. I've seen Dwayne Wade benched the entire 4th. I've seen Chris Bosh benched the entire 4th. Do you think that means the coach thinks those player's backups are better than them? or do you think they're making a game by game decision?

The Rockets should be careful on Mchale's reputation as a Head Coach.

    His attitude is terrible.
It may affect our FA signing.

Yes each game is different, thats why I never blamed McHale for not playing Lin in the 4th quarter of the Magic game. But last night was no Magic game, Beverly was not that great plus he was tired. As for all those names, they have never been cut by the same team, coaches never made comments like these about them and its RARE. Benching Lin for the entire 4th quarter 2 out of 3 games? Thats starting to look like a trend.

He has an awful lot of pride as a HOF, that's for sure! Too stubborn and over defensive! That never works for a good coach.

When I first joined here I noticed a post where someone offered to buy someone's veteran account so I'm not entirely convinced that everyone that posts are entirely who joined under those accounts.

you know, Clutch, i feel your angry but it really looks like a childish fight. ignoring them is more classic. if i were you, i just ignore those types of posts. it's my rule. when i feel there is nothing we can really debate, i will move on.
