Usually drink nothing but water....Occassionally juice, iced tea, lemonade and beer, alcohol. By occasionally I mean a couple times a week. Food...chicken, salad, lean ground beef (93%), baked potatoes, white rice, all kinds of veggies, bread, cereal, grapefruit, grapes, oranges, pears, bananas. Less often but still at least once a week...bread, cheese, milk, eggs, roast. The above is 95% of what I consume...I'm holding my own and even losing a bit. Its not what I eat. Its my metabolism. I walk daily and am increasing how far I walk to try to beef it up, but the weight has also compounded joint and foot issues. My doc has suggested swimming, but in Montana thats not so easy to do.
I just ate two red velvet cupcakes even though I wasn't hungry #htowngorging I had to get them before the facilities workers did #unconsciouslyajackassafornoapparentreason
The fat gets built over time and then people just have to eat at a maintenance level. Its not like they have to keep gorging once they accumulate fat
i'm no nutrition expert, but know enough to know that there's a ton of stuff that you listed (baked potatoes, white rice, bread, cereal, cheese, every drink you listed besides water and possibly ice tea...) that will do a good number on prohibiting weight loss. you shouldn't expect or be disappointed if you don't lose more than 2 lbs/week (this isnt the biggest loser). eating all that stuff can easily stop you from losing weight, especially if you aren't exercising a ton. once again, i'm no expert, and need to lose some more weight myself. just my 2 cents.
Oh yes, I'm aware. As I indicated, I try to limit those items, but there are several overlapping factors that figure in. First, trying to follow doctors orders. Second, much of what I eat is also what others in the household eat. I could avoid rice/potatoes more often but its also a big part of what the family eats too...doesn't mean I couldn't do a better job of avoiding this though.
I think cupcakes in general is a white people thing. Of all those specialty cupcake places I've been to (2) none were owned by a non-whitey.
True. But dude...I'm not 300 lbs because I eat rice and potatoes. I know my issues. Thanks for the concern though.
Not too bad but I still see a ton of sugar in your diet and yes sugar from fruit is still sugar. Your liver processes it the same way and for the most part if you don't burn it right away it stores as fat. If you can cut all sugar for a month and don't change anything else and see what type of results you get.... yes that means no fruit and no lemonade and no cereal - most cereal is loaded with it.
My man, the only problem with your diet right now is your sugar intake. Cut the fruit, cut out any fruit juice, cut the lemonade and please god stop eating cereal. Eat a normal meal for breakfast. The fact that our great marketing system has brainwashed us into thinking sugary cereal is a "breakfast" food is a joke. You won't see anyone eating that crap in most other countries.
Doctor told me don't eat anything white. No sugar, bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, or pop tarts. If you eat meat, veggies, and fruits as well as exercise 30 mins a day (walking, swimming, bicycling, yoga, sex) you'll get leaner. Good luck.
Try going paleo, you'll quickly learn your body doesn't need to eat a bunch of starches. Especially if you have low levels of physical output.
