You mean like we did to start the 3rd in the previous game when we had the starters in with D-Mo on Dirk and Parsons shutting down Marion and completely destroyed the Mavs' offense for a full 6 minutes but never went back to again this game? Why pay attention to the 17-point swings when the 6-point swings fit McHale's random hypothesis of the moment so much better?

Surely the 6-point swing is more predictive and experimentally significant as it is obviously much less likely to be statistical noise than the 17-point swing. Yeah, let's just completely discount that experimental result, it work so well once, but it's obviously statistical noice and not even worth trying again for one more minute. Nosireebob. Hey, let's try something completely new with Mr. Garcia instead! Maybe he and his 60-years-old-in-injury-age knees will prove to be our saviors!

There is no point in running new experiments when the scientist routinely dismisses incidental major discoveries to pursue random statistical noise that just happens to fit his random mad hypothesis of the moment better.

Closing out the quarter with T-Rob at center... How that decision can be defended is beyond me.

This is the 4 or 5th game that the team lost purely because of McHale's substitutions (or lack thereof) and late game execution.

Honestly, I don't like seeing Garcia out there either. Anderson was coming along well and showed a lot of hustle. Not clear why Garcia was able play over Anderson.

it is crazy I have been getting on Lin for being inconsistent (& he has been) but I don't think McHale really helps the situation with his erratic substitutions. And I don't understand how you don't at least have Omer out there. I don't even blame McHale really for this loss or any losses, I just don't like how there have been repeated games where I felt like we could have won down the stretch but McHale makes dumb decisions.

Rip serious - making playing and getting playoff experience more important for the growth of this young team.

Tell me do you really know how well Asik and Lin will do in playoff? I know I'm very curious. I rather know if our 8.3 mil PG Lin will perform in playoff and if he is our PG we want to grow w/ Harden.

im still depressed after last night's loss, after the game I just sat there in disbelief because I know we coulda have won this. Sketchy reffing and questionable coaching lost us this game. Hopefully we get the one with GS, otherwise im going to be stressed as ***

    We are going to clarify.

    Going by these qualifications -
    * To qualify, a player must be on pace to play 70 games or make 125 steals.

I mean, I can understand the rationalization for the Garcia experimentation in a vacuum. The D-Mo/Marion matchup was killing us and DAL knew it. What got me was that we had the perfect experimental solution just one game ago that proved so decisive the game was effectively won in the 6 minutes we ran it, and McHale didn't deem it worthy of use for a single minute this game when he faced the exact same problem.

I can just imagine Carlisle going on the sidelines in disbelief, "Wow, look, guys, just keep doing it if they aren't going to go back to their knockout counter-move, I think McHale is hallucinating again and it would be impolite to turn down his gift."

For all you idiots that support mchales decision in the 4th quarter..

Logically why not do this and close out the game with

    Beverely
    Anderson
    Delfino
    Robinson
    Smith

Why not do that for the entire team instead. I am SURE they would PLAY REALLY WELL. I just have this "FEELING" as Mcfail would think.

Before you start calling the coaching staff and posters here as idiots, answer this question for us..

Name 5 teams in the 67-year HISTORY of the NBA who were younger or as young and inexperienced and had the same success as this team record-wise on their first season together.

This is what made the game so frustrating to watch. If a given match up worked in a previous game, the coach should at least try it for a few minutes this game. It does not look like they are learning from their success or failures.

Usually i sit back and dont say much about mchale but this game.....Lin not playing in the 4th was the reason we lost the game.... Beverly gave NOTHING on offense and if it was about shutting down the PG on the other team...he had 8 points for the whole game....
There was no ball movement in the 4th....the last 5 minutes was simply iso ball....it was awful

THis whole this team is young thing is both a reason to give out praise & to pardon poor performances. Can't have it both ways. This young team is the best scoring team in the NBA. If they are able to do that can't be giving guys a pass when we can't get it done down the stretch. McHale made some boneheaded decisions that didn't put us in a position to be successful. That is on him.

I didn't see anyone calling McHale an idiot when we massacred the Mavs by 33 just a couple of days ago.

Seriously, after losing like 9 straight to the Mavs and our last win against them dating way back to 2009, who among you in all honesty, had us sweeping this home and home series against Dallas?

Lets move on and hope we steal one in Golden State. Experts and bookies will pit us as underdogs in that game and i also have us losing that game in my projection thread. hehe Our schedule gets favorable going forward with our 2-week, 7-game homestand coming up.

Again, before the knee-jerk reactions and frustration posts, keep in mind that this coaching staff has put this brand new, young and inexperienced rebuilding team on their first season together at a success rate in historic fashion. A rebuilding franchise on their 1st year with an overhauled roster who's one of the youngest and most inexperienced in the history of the NBA shouldn't be winning games at this rate. Just go ahead and check the NBA archives.

    Remember this?

When Lin defers and it becomes ISO Harden
    After game
Rocket Fan: Lin is being passive and keeps deferring to Harden
LOF: McHale needs to stop telling Lin to give the ball to Harden. Why is McHale making Harden initiate the offense and ISOing. Lin needs to be the primary ball handler!!

When Beverly defers and it becomes ISO Harden
    After game
    Rocket Fan: ....
LOF: We need Lin out there!!! He wouldn't have deferred to Harden, there would be no ISO ball and it would've made this offense better!!!!

Tell me I'm wrong LOFs. Tell me there is no double standard.

Hahaha, love it. You might want to put an after loss reaction too, like when lin is out in the 4th and PB in, and a loss, what is the reaction?
