[CSN] McHale after Rockets' tough loss to Mavericks

I think McHale just wants to play Harden ball and cant trust Lin to only give it to harden.

 

We have a winner. Excellent coach.

 

He did the same thing with TD. If Beverley gets hurt he'll do the same thing with Brooks. Play anybody but Lin.

 

With this stupid coach, Rocket will not go far in playoff.

 

I really don't like how McHale fails to take responsibility time and time again. Which player did he throw under the bus this time?

 

Rockets have to be in playoff first.

 

Mchale doesn't care. He is clueless.

I have a theory. I saw people saying Mchale should play Asik and make the other team adjust. Perhaps deep down that's what Mchale wanted to do but he knew too well that the team didn't have the chemistry or the playbook down to make it work. When eventually the team fell apart with the small lineup, he wasn't worried because he too knew it would probably fail.

The benching of Lin is similar. Dallas was trapping Lin hard. They had a game plan against him. I would argue that Mchale knew the trapping of Lin was coming even before the game. Anyone still remember what he said in the post-practice interview prior to the game about any time new things were introduced to the team and the next game became a disaster? While he knew the trapping was coming, he also knew the best/current option was to throw in Beverley as a curveball rather than trying something new prior to the game with the team. In the end, the surprise to Dallas wore off; he knew the game was as good as done so he wasn't even sorry about it.

 

Beverley was passing and defending well. He can actually make an impact without having the ball, which sets him apart from Lin, who goes into self-pity mode whenever Harden is initiating the offense (like he should).

 

God, I hate this coach. He was a great player in his time, but his coaching methods and decisions simply drive me CRAZY

 

A ZER0 points impact is certainly nothing to scoff at.

 

It's obvious Lin sees the flaw in ISO hero ball so he doesn't defer to Harden when Harden sucks. McHale does not like that. Beverley on the other hand, will do anything to please the coach to have PT. McHale likes.

 

a lot of you guys should stop reading stats and pay attention to the game....

Lin does not run offense and he scores meaningless points....he is playing 1 on 5 when he scores....he rarely ever gets his points in the flow of the offense.....a good counter example would be Parsons....Parsons is our second best offensive threat behind Harden....that boy is good...

Lin needs a lot of work on his point guard skills....if we rode Lin the entire season we would not be where we are....

CAN'T you people see the reason why we are overachieving this season...it is not because of Jeremy Lin's 5 good games this season...it is because we consistently go to Harden when we need buckets and Jeremy Lin needs to man up and play POINT GUARD!

 

im getting tired of all of the Lin dick riders on the forum...it is disgusting....we might need to trade Lin he is becoming a distraction to the TEAM

I would think once Asik improves his free-throw shooting, he will likely finish more games. Maybe a more improved offensive array, but he has improved in that area so the defense can't completely cheat off of him for help defensive purposes.
