I think the Stern's plan is for the Lakers to surpass both the Jazz and Rockets, so whichever one of the two comes out on top will get the 8th seed.

It's how we lost the game that concerns me.

lakers will make playoffs and rockets will fall out after fridays loss to GSW, The ability to spread the floor is now gone unless delfino is at the 4 which will get abused by david lee on friday

    oh please

The entire world is laughing their collective asses off at the mighty "4 all stars in the starting lineup" Lakers that have JUST NOW gotten to .500

Dont give me that stupid crap....The Rockets were never slated for more than a lotto season this year, and yet they are several games over the over-rated Lakers.....everything this season is gravy as far as I see it.

You guys need to take some zanax and relax.

It would not surprise me to see the Rockets fall out of the playoffs. They have just lost too many games to worse teams than them. If they continue that trend, then they will miss the playoffs. We have to win most of our home games and some on the road without losing to teams with worse records than we have. This team is going to get smoked in the first round regardless so does it really matter?

Seriously, after losing like 9 straight to the Mavs and our last win against them dating way back to 2009, who among you in all honesty, had us sweeping this home and home series against Dallas?

Don't worry about the playoff guys, Rockets will not make it. McHale is working hard for the 14th pick.

This. The Mavs have basically owned us for the past decade and people are discouraged after beating them by 33 and then barely losing to them on the road.

In case you haven't noticed, this is nowhere near the same Mavs team as the seasons before when they built that win streak against us. They are an inferior version of what they were. They haven't been this bad in forever it seems like.

Lets face it, we all know LA Lakers is going to get in no matter what. It will be at the expense of HOU, GS, or UTAH missing the playoffs. Too much big names and future HOF's to just let them fade. Look for sneaky tactics, favorable and controversial calls down the stretch. Refs will disrupt the game momentum with timing of fouls called and try to balance it back to make the box scores look even in the end. They wont make it obvious but it will be just enough for LA to sneak in. Book it. I am not discrediting LA for the recent improvements on D or game play but you just have to know the zebras will have their say in this and give them a HUGE boost. Just the way it works. If LA misses the playoffs this year, I believe the league will regain the trust of majority of fans again. NOT happening until Kobe is washed up. They are milking that LA market as long as they can IMO.

So how do you explain our December 8, 2012 loss at home to them when they didn't have Dirk Nowitzki? Plus our January 16, 2013 road loss to them again. BOTH this season.

Point is, they have owned us for the past 4 years including our first two games with them this season.

And suddenly people are expecting us to sweep the home and home 2-game series against the same team who we haven't beaten since the very same year the US inaugurated its first ever African-American president?
