Stan Van Gundy would flush the Howard signing down the toilet for sure. I would like a Popavich disciple or Tom Thibodeau disciple ( one of their long tenured assistant coachs.
Buddenholzer is the Pop disciple. But he has said repeatedly that he doesn't want to leave despite people trying to steal him away.
I recall a Chris finch thread but I don't have searching rights. Can anyone summarize his potential as a head coach for this organization ?
but looks how good he was with Deron and Boozer. Sloan could really do something with Harden, Lin, Asik and Parsons....
Mchale doesn't run plays, makes stupid rotatio ns all the time, and his most memorable moment fro last year is effing up the relationship with our best pg. I'm thinking wed do just fine with a player coach.
McHale isn't going to be fired any time soon. The only way he isn't back is if he decides to retire. Stan VanGundy is someone that Morey has a preexisting relationship with and is more into "Morey-ball" and statistical driven coaching than anyother NBA head coach. Morey has spoken highly of him in the past. If McHale were to get hit by an astroid this summer, I think Stan would be at the top of the line. Finch is someone that Morey likes a great deal, but he does not fit the role of head coach that the Rockets like. I think Bickerstaff is a possibility as well.
McHale didnt "eff" up that relationship, Lowry was upset that he didnt immediately get all his PT back from Dragic.
I don't believe most rocket's offense or defense is McHale's idea. He always wants to play big guy. McHale's job may be about rotation and training. We should get a coach who is on the same page with the management and take responsibility. In that respect, internal promotion is better than hiring a famous coach or HOFer.
And trust me I was on mchales side last year. Bottom line thogh this is a players league. Any coach worth his salt is gonna make a real effort to patch things up especially when its our best pg and arguably best young player. Mchale effed it up by not being more proactive about things imo.
What is McHale suppose to do if KLOw doesn't like him? There's not much you can do when somebody has made up their mind about someone. And KLow has been a pain in the ass in TOR as well. McHale is not coaching there.
We don't get Harden if we don't get rid of Lowry. That TOR draft pick was an important piece in the Harden trade.
I just think the guy has always had the underdog teams and has always outperformed expectations. He should be here in Houston as the Rockets work their way toward a championship. He's an amazing coach and the Rockets are an amazing team. I really wish he and management had worked things out.
I'm not on the Fire McHale bandwagon yet, but if there was a coach I would like the Rockets to hire, it would be Nate. Undervalued!
One word: Jazz Beside for the obvious rivalry reason, why do you suppose every other fan base who needed a HC talked about Sloan but no GM actually gave him a chance? Not even an interview? Not insinuating anything but you know he was an alcoholic. Edit: My mistake! I thought you were for hiring Sloan.
