He just took a bad shot in crunch time and Sac ended up losing.

First let me say I appreciate the tactfulness of your response.
That is a rarity in the GARM.
    Kudos.

"We are often most offended by behavior of which ourselves are guilty."
    ;)

Again, my argument was not against Lin nor Asik.
I disagree with the implication that going with Beverley and Robinson down the stretch was inexplicable, foolish, or even questionable.
I believe an assessment otherwise is being unduly influenced by other factors/biases and not strictly an observation of the game at hand.

Not necessarily "less worthy" but certainly less objective.

What that McHale put out what he thought the best lineup against the Mavs based on their lineup at that particular moment in time?

Man, I'm neither a LOF nor LOH just a Lin +TEAM supporter who wants the best for the Rockets but this is the first time I'm questioning McHale's decision to sit Lin the entire 4th quarter, and especially when Collison came back in. I somewhat understood the strategy in previous games (based on his play and or a sub's hot hand) but in this game Lin was doing all that could be asked of him and Beverly's offense and play making abilities were growing stagnant. I love the spark Beverly provides off the bench but that is his role-to spark the offense so the starters get some rest and can then bring their A-game to finish it out (ie the reason why they are paid to begin with).

I don't believe McHale is purposefully benching LIn or has it out for him or anything, I think its just gut instinct with him but completely flawed reasoning nonetheless.

Also not utilizing Asik AT ALL in the 4th was a major fail. That decision I really don't get.

The one play I saw today was Garcia rolling off a down-screen and it led to him shooting an easy three. But other than that. No plays.

what!??!! that's like saying "we dont need wade and lebron in there....put LeBron in with Battier cause he has a better 3 and defense!"

no lin is no wade, but harden is no lebron either. Forget redundant, you put your best guys out there!

"Best plus/minus" means the highest in the plus/minus category, he didn't say the best and the worst plus/minus. Damn stop embarrassing yourself! ;)

I'm aware of all the public stats. I'm also aware that stats can only tell you so much when it comes to individual defense. I think Lin is, overall, an above-average defender despite the reputation. I would still rate Beverley higher on that end.

Lol... All I can say is...

    Asik - 23 min 12pt/15rb on 4-5
    Lin - 25 min 12pt/3ast on 5-10

Both didn't play at the 4th qtr. I watched the whole game, and if this isn't on the coach, then some of you are just delusional. We can't keep blaming on the Mavs having lucky shots. Why do we give them the opportunity to even have those shots? You know why? Because our best defensive units are both on the bench.

Yes seriously. Y'all seem to be arguing for what has best worked overall, and I seem to be arguing for what seemed to be working best in this particular case. AGAIN, this game amounts to a coin flip when anyone can argue if player "x" should have hit this shot or coach "Y" should have subbed this player.... TOO MANY VARIABLES.

He already debunked your Asik argument, and you kept raising the same point again and again... My god... Do you need me to guide you through his post?

exactly it's a flawed strategy. At least Scott Brooks knows OKC is better off letting Westbrook loose then trying to cage him.

I don't know what you are talking about.... If we had two of this league's great then I don't doubt our coaches would have them in..... but we don't.....

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but feels it is definitely worth pointing out. I'm going to leave names out because I want you to focus on something specific and not tie it to some irrational hate/love of a certain player.

Player B entered the game for Parsons with 3 mins left in the 3rd quarter. Player B played all of the 4th quarter. So Player B played 15 straight minutes to close the game.

Player T entered the game with 5:22 left in the 3rd for Asik. Player T played all of the 4th quarter and ended up playing 17.5 straight minutes.

Both player B and T are rookies on this team. In case you haven't figured it out Player B is Beverly and Player T is Thomas.

Am I the only one that thinks this is an outrageous coaching decision to have such a prolong amount of successive minutes given to two rookies in a very closely contested game?

This makes it sound like one can only have an objecive opinion of Rockets' play if you don't like any of the players, because if you like a player then you're not objective.
