The OP sounds like that she-male from several years back who was yelling at everyone not to make fun of Britney Spears.
Are you aware that the bench came in midway in the 3rd quarter, and not between the 3rd and 4th quarters?
It is not at all unusual for a coach to leave reserves who are playing well in the game to finish it out. Its a less common practice on teams with experienced, veteran starters. We have a relatively young, inexperienced starting unit. Only one player has the earned the benefit of the doubt to always finish games, IMO, and that's James Harden.
Give it up, I of all the people defended McHale for benching lin the entire 4th quarter of the bucks game coz beverly played great, but look this was no Bucks game, Beverly played good defense tonight but Lin wasn't getting torched by anyone and he played good D too, again if this is all it takes from Bev for McHale to bench Lin his starter, then it's very obvious what he thinks of Lin
It is unusual for a coach to play 6'8 power forwards as centres in crunch time on a disconcertingly regular basis, even when it's apparent that we need defensive stops. It is also unusual for a coach to keep his rookie PG in over his starting one when that rookie PG has clearly become exhausted and committed three consecutive mistakes that led to a turnover.
question for you, sitting on bench and never played once in more than whatever years nba career, do you call them veterans? can they be called experienced?
One thing is true though. Amongst play-offs seeded teams the Rockets are the worst in closing out close games. Rockets are also, by point differential or power rankings or any other advanced metric the most underachieving team in the league. You can't really fault your starting centre and point guard if they barely get opportunities to produce on the floor in crunch time and get treated like scrubs. The fault really, primarily rests with the coach.
That makes no sense and is quite laughable. T-Rob is a rookie who only joined Rox 4 games ago, Beverley is also a rookie who joined Rox mid-season and didn't have a training camp. And you called out starting unit being relatively young and inexperienced to justify MacFail's decision to ride two rookies in crunch time, without giving Lin and Asik even an opportunity.
I guess evaluating using advanced analytics doesn't apply to coaches. Morey should stick with evaluating players and let les make the decision on coaches.
We were losing the entire game, it was that lineup that brought us the momentum. You are ignoring the facts in your argument.
Durvasa is reaching and failing hard big time. Dude need to cut his losses and save some of his hard earned credibility on some other pet causes.
I agree it was incredibly stupid to let Adelman walk, that season was the most pissed off I have ever been at the rockets and the only season I have probably missed. That being said, the current situation is fine and Mchale is doing a fine job. Check out minny's record in the east if you need clarification.
nobody here is a Mchale fan, they are just rational in their appraoch to judging the game. They don't have Lin goggles on that see any Beverly time as a slight to Lin.
And then that line-up became stagnant. We started settling for contested jumpers. Beverley started making mistakes.
A team should take reasonable risk on their starters, not a min. paid player. If Lin and Asik plays well, he should play in the last 7 minutes.
