Today loss was pretty much on DMO I say DMOTE this guy back to the friggin bench or send him back to D-league...he starting to show sign he can't be a starter.
Our win/loss record for games decided by 8 points or less. Small ball and riding the hot rookies never fails in crunch time, apparently.
I have to give credit where credit is due...TRob played his a$$ off...and so did Beverely...but their effectiveness in the outcome of the game subsided at the 3 min mark...dont believe me...watch the rest of the game...While Beverley was a total pest on bring up the ball, he isnt your starter...While TRob played hellraising defense down the stretch..he isnt your starter... Asik and Lin deserved close out the game...its how you build confidence...Asik is our best pick setter in the game...he dislodges his guy off the ball and allows for the attacker actual options...take a step back 3, or attack the rim. After watching those last 2-3 minutes played...Thats where Mchale fails as a head coach...ITS what we need...the Ball in Harden's hand, and a way for him to attack the basket...TRob isnt big enough to separate a defender... Heck if that is the case...put Asik and TRob both on the floor, and allow for Parsons, Delfino and Harden to operate and put up shots...Have TRob and Asik attack the boards...or...bring back Lin instead of Delfino and allow for both guards to beat their guy off the dribble... Instead we this lineup to close out the game: TRob, Delfino, Parsons, Harden, and Beverley...that doesnt make sense to me...not after that 3 min mark... At 2:21 the Rockets take a Time out after back to back baskets by OJ Mayo...Dallas has a 3 point lead...Houston has the ball after the TO... The the Rockets had missed yet another shot(Delfino miss) and Dirk makes another basket for a 5 point Dallas lead...The Harden gets four consecutive FTs...bring the Rockets back within 1...Marion gets one of 2 FTs...The the Rockets just hand the ball to Harden??? WHY NOT CALL A TIME OUT AND DECIDE what is the best option??? You have 28 seconds to tie the game...and we all know who has to have the ball in the end...Why not find a way to free him up...How is TRob doing that????????? In the end...even the Mavs announcers called out the fact that our bench guys were still riding the game...If you dont respect your starters to make plays for you down the stretch...then they really arent your starters...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>@<a href="https://twitter.com/jasoncfriedman">jasoncfriedman</a> poor clock/possessions managed for Houston, 2 chances with no chance to score an effective shot...</p>— Bones (@Barryathree) <a href="https://twitter.com/Barryathree/status/309514966224994304">March 7, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> So apparently Brent Barry must be an LOF too...
oh it is all so clear to me now. Thanks master Mchale for enlighteninig us and thank you my friend..... wait.... i have a vision...... ah... yess...... we SHOULD!!!!..... trade asik for calderon!!!! he is %90 free throw shooter and can knock down 3's. size is *****ing overrated anyway. so here is my 5 delfino C parsons pf harden sf beverly sg calderon pg i havent seen trob knocing down 3's anyway.
I love ripping McHale...but today he did alright. He need to stop relying on Delfino during crunch time this guy aint clutch....hes great to increase our lead but crunch time he's pretty much a liability. Like I said earlier...DMO needs to be DMOTED...he's just not ready....this loss was pretty much on him....no more experimenting....please put someone reliable in that position.
This loss is on Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin. They done nothing in that 4th quarter. Disgusting that they received those contracts. Omer Asik 0/0/0 in the 4th Jeremy Lin 0/0/0 in the 4th
Asik needs ot learn to hit a damn FT. Its great when you get open layups and get fouled with the oppertunity to goto the FT line...but when each posession is amounting to 1 pt it completely disrupts the offense with VC hitting 3s all over the place.
Beverly is a very foul prone defender. Aggressive defense doesn't equate with good defense. I would have preferred that we kept up our running game. I would rather bank on our running game than try to battle it out in the half court against Dallas with Coach Carlisle who is brilliant. If we are going to play the half court game our two best half court defenders should have been in there. Even if you prefere Beverley's defense (debatable) Asik definitely should have been there. And McHale put him in, int he last few seconds of the game. I think McHale realized that he was mistaken but decided to double down on his decision as opposed to putting them back in in the last time out. Dallas also was in the penalty & Collison was in the game, putting in back Lin would have allowed him to draw FT's against Collison who is terrible defensively. That is what nearly won us the game just before all star break in the previous match in Dallas that was on ESPN I believe.
No idea why ppl are upset that JLin got pulled...JLin played great!!! but he was starting to show sign he wasn't able to close...just like in baseball when pitcher start to show wear...what do you do you put the relief pitcher....as a relief pitcher you put all you got in ever single pitch...thats why Beverely can afford to be aggressive and risk getting tons of fouls...JLin has to play more conservative when it comes down to defensively....
What a bad revelation...basketball starter vs. baseball pitcher? What's the frequency subbing baseball pitcher in a game? What's the frequency in basketball?
Statistically coaching doesn't make a difference, but when you go 8-17 in games decided by 8 points or less, it means you're a horrible outlier'ly bad 4th quarter situational in-game adjustment coach.
There's a revolution brewing! People rising in the streets to rail against McHale! (Not recommending this video. Just think it's funny that people are so mad they are posting on YouTube.) <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YVvvwB5yTZ0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
