Not only 2012ers are saying fire Mchale. Did u even watch tonight's game? What kind of idiotic coach benches his starters in crunch time when they are hot to replace with backup thats playing poorly? And his last play was a harden-isolation play..smfh
If Asik had missed even a single free throw in the fourth quarter, you guys would be screaming that he shouldn't even be out there. Our fans are either mostly comprised of 12 year olds or dimwits.
I literally could not sit and watch a game even at half court with a McFAIL fan. This coach has ticked me off to the ultimate limit. Please get rid of him Morey and Les...PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
utterly horrible end of game management by mchale. the offense was sputtering the last two minutes and he refuses to put Lin back in the game. It wasnt as if their point guards were wrecking their offense. This is the problem with old school coaches. They rely too much on old school tendencies like staying with a back ups who is doing well. He pushed his luck tonight and it cost the rockets. Lin should have been put in the last 5 minutes of the game. Beverly did great but he is a rookie and the back up and it showed the game got close and the rockets had trouble setting up their offense and was only bailed out by the individual brilliance of harden. Even putting back james harden on the floor he took forever. The reserves did their part in bringing the team back in the game but mchale should have put Lin or Harden back in once the game was close. The bench did their jobs. Mchale should have done the proper thing and put the starters back in to finish the job.
Omer Asik not touching the floor tonight in the clutch? Lin not touching the floor tonight in the clutch? Carlos getting subbed immediately after hitting his shots? Delfino defending Dirk leading to foul trouble? Beverley committing three consecutive turnovers? What about losing critical rebounds and not being able to make stops in those games where Asik was sitting down because McHale felt he needed to go small? If we're losing due to inexperience, why not favor the more seasoned players?
TRob is a worse option..on the court...he is pretty bad as well..Asik gives size on a pick and roll..something TRob couldnt do..hence why Harden didnt have his usual distance...
Ridiculous. They weren't playing that great at all--nothing special. Beverley was t scoring and neither was TRob. They happened to do okay against the Mavs second unit because Delfino and Chandler made some threes--something too many people can't grasp. You go with your BEST PLAYERS to finish a game. Otherwise don't start them. JL and Asik both played WELL. You roll with your best players and trust them to finish and live with the results, not go with a second unit that happened to do okay.
Please don't fire McHale. Let him stay as an assistant coach and learn from the next head coach about coaching.
Now this is the interesting question. One thing is that the Mavs had all perimeter players on the court, so Asik would have had to guard either Dirk or Marion.
I don't know why the team spend 25M for Lin and Asik each, but play them a half of game without good reason.

the bench brought us back in the game brahs. the coach usually has a tough choice at this point, either bring back the starters, who, mind you, widened the point gap, or stick with the bench. mchale stuck with the bench. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. u mad?
And what about Denver or OKC? After the trades I'm pretty sure we're not the "youngest" and even when we were the difference in average between us and OKC and Denver was less than a year. It was only a few months difference in fact. The inexperience thing is overstated unless you decide to bench the guys like Asik and Lin for the entirety of the fourth quarter. McHale is benefitting greatly from people constantly using the fact we started the year as the youngest team in the league. That's no longer the case and even when we were the difference was tiny.
I honestly don't understand how any fan of the Rockets keep defending McFail. I mean dude is seriously a chump for a coach. He has proven nothing. Just because we have a young team, doesn't mean that our GM hasn't put a winning team together that would be doing a whole lot better than we are now with a decent coach.
