I was talking about the politicians. They've succeeded and chaos is upon us with the sequester.

You are a twisted individual for even insinuating such a thing.

Politicians are for the most part greedy and corrupt.

And you base this assumption on what? Corruption can be defined many ways. Are they corrupt like crooks? No. Both D's and R's for the most part are good people, with two very different views on the role of government. Have their values and virtues been corrupted? Possibly, I think a lot of politicians get to Washington thinking they can make a difference, but are quickly swept up in the **** storm that is DC.

What do you base your assumption that most Democrats and republicans are good people?

I base this on history, and current events. Example one of our own congress being corrupt is the story on 60 minutes when they were confronted about trading based on insider information and just waffled when asked about it.

no one's going to ever convince me that politicians aren't greedy or crooks.. Why are we even arguing this point? I thought that was a part of the job description... you know kiss babies and stab everyone else in the back... (and make some money and gain a little power in the meantime)

Well the fact that I have worked with many of them and been along side them for over a year now. I don't know it all, and Washington is SO SO SO different from Texas politics, but I have met Sen. Cornyn and some US Reps and I never got that impression. I think people assume the motives of our reps are corrupt, but really they are just seeing more information, thinking about more variables, how things will effect other sectors, all of the intricacies that go with running a government. For instance, someone wants to change a bill, and the reasoning for changing it for them makes an excellent case, but that same bill could effect hundreds of other groups, thousands to millions could be affected as well, but you only hear about one or two groups who the media covers.

Like I said, I work in a different world, everyone knows Washington is broken, but I don't think people are evil and manipulative as the general population thinks.

Your example of a Congressman waiving off a question about insider trading, can you reference who it was? Like I said, there are certainly people with corrupted motives who get into office, but I don't think most of them are looking out for big business (conservatives), or looking to take over the government (liberals).

You are basing your assumption off movies and isolated incidents. Money and power can corrupt people, it HAS corrupted people, but I don't think the majority of the Legislature is evil like you do.

    FIFY.

Seriously, politicians are people, and people tend to disappoint given a long enough timeline and/or enough power and money. To say all those on one side are terrorists is asinine.

I disagree with pretty much anything said by basso, bigtexxx, tallanvor, cml750, giddyup, or Svpernaut. But that doesn't mean they're terrorists.

My, my, terrorist is such a "relative" term. All depends on your perspective. I do not like the policies of Rick Perry, but I love Ted Cruz. I would vote for him all day every day. He is a true libertarian that embodies everything I believe in. I wrote him the other day to tell him so.

If Republicans are terrorists, what does that make the current Attorney General who refuses to admit that drone strikes on Americans IN THE UNITED STATES is unconstitutional?

Once Democrats Claim Texas, Republicans will never win another Presidential election again.
