How about we all chill and see what happens with Dmo and Trob? Omer's got us covered down low. No need for DH and all the drama.

As a UT grad and someone who watched Aldridge in college and the NBA, I couldn't disagree more. Aldridge has a bad attitude. His D, rebounding, and blocking blow compared to Howard. No comparison for what the Rockets need. Aldridge might be a better improvement on the half court offense but that is a big maybe.

DMO looks very promising IMO, i think he will be an offensive force to be reckoned with. it will take a while for Trob to get integrated and make a sound decision on whether to keep him or not.

we don't struggle against miami, they just beat us on talent in the dying moments, against okc, ibaka limiting penetration is our biggest issue, forcing him out towards the 3 pt line would be our best bet

did want Dwight but I'd rather ride with Asik and all the contributions he provides on defense. Clogs the lane and is more active than a lazy Dwight. Rather just pick up the stud in Aldridge or love to pair with Asik. Asik will be a top 5 center in a few years, his potential is dripping with upside...

I disagree. Kevin Love is one of the best rebounder in the game, ad he can provide spacing for Harden to drive in the lane. He's also a better post player than Smith if the team needs a go-to post player. While he can't defend like Smith, he doesn't need to be. Asik is a great defender just by himself and if the team need another defender, upgrade the wing, just as Morey had said himself. Get a better defensive big for the bench, like Dalembert or Camby and the team will look great.

Some of y'all would rather run with Asik than sign Dwight.

    Lord, I've seen it all.

I don't like Howard as the centerpiece of this team(or any team for that matter), but I think he can be a real difference maker if someone else is going to be the team's best player and the leader of the team.

I feel that with Harden as the clear #1 (and a guy who doesn't throw teammates under the bus), Howard can do something he hasn't been able to do even once in his career - just play basketball and not worry about being the man or leading his team. That's just not how he is built - doesn't have the maturity to handle it, doesn't like the responsibility when things get tough - it's just not him....however If Howard is your 2nd best player, and you don't have to rely on him for things like maturity, leadership, and poise - well then you CAN win a championship with him because he provides defense and offense that can't be matched by any opposing big. I'm telling you, if our big rotation is Howard, Asik, Robinson, and Dmo - we would hold an advantage over every other team's bigs in the entire league - every single game. Pair that with the Harden/Lin backcourt who is also a top duo and I have a hard time seeing how this wouldn't be a conference final team at least.

Do I like Dwight? Not really. Do I think he has been cast into this role to provide all the intangibles he really isn't suited for because of his overwhelming physical abilities? Absolutely.

Watched a bit of a recent Lakers game. DH's potential ton contribute to the Rockets is absolutely incredible. He seemed willing to PNR, at least early in the game, forcing the defense to follow him and leaving open shooters all over the court for a smart PG/ballhandler. Still could get up, intimidate on defense. He's got to be itching to come to Houston if he knows what is best for him and if he is willing to just win.
