Just saw on Stanton's twitter that the owner died. That is sad, the best burger in Houston will be no more
I've had their burgers a few times, and I don't get the hype. Not in the conversation with the true giants of Houston Burgerdom.
So if anyone else doesn't share the opinion that it's the best burger in Houston, does that mean he/she is classless too? RIP, btw. I wish I would've had the chance to try the place, but word-of-mouth never got around.
Southwell's. OMG, soooo good. I know of two locations; there's one off of san felipe just past Voss, but the better one (IMO) is right next to Memorial High School off of Gaylord. seriously if you like a good burger, you gotta check it out.
The business will shut down? Never heard of that place, but I would love to check it out next week when I'm in Houston if it is open for a little longer.
Southwell's is very good as BDswangHTX said. Better than that: 1. Bernie's Burger Bus 2. Hubcap Grill 3. Lankford Grocery 4. Christian's Tailgate or Christian's Totem 5. Champ Burger This is a pretty standard list, though I don't think Champ Burger really gets mentioned in burger threads.
I like Bubba's; the potato salad is the potato salad that made me stop hating potato salad and start liking potato salad. Haven't been to Petrol Station, but it's on the radar.
RIP Art, I saw the post on facebook and donated. I didn't know they were actually going to closed down though.
