Well....isn't the christian god a vengeful, bipolar, wrathful murderer. Or did I read the wrong bible?

I strongly disagree with your assertion, sir. MadTV during the Will Sasso years were golden. The skits were clever and better than anything during the modern SNL years.

Murder is bad unless God does it. Then it is good.

Just when I thought it was starting to be a little easier to be the under-represented minority that is the white Christian male in the United States SNL pops this crap on us? WTF. I wake up in the morning everyday wondering, is there really a Christian God? If there is, why is he making the life of the Christian American so hard?

ok so let me get this clear. You bash people in the middle east for overreacting to portrayals of Muhammad (which i agree with). But in the same post you applaud Sears and JC panny for standing up to this garbage:grin:

So you believe that having negative parodies on religious people are garbage and shouldn't happen? I thought you were also a free speech enthusiast.

I agree that the death threads that happened in the past are much worse than what sears and JC Penny did, but don't you think that this is also an overreaction? people are really to easily offended.

Exactly. This should be the very least of the concerns of the Church.

to be fair, the difference between burning effigies and withdrawing advertising money is pretty drastic

Does anyone believe that they removed their ads due to moral outrage, rather than to avoid the backlash in sales/perception? Not that both couldn't be factors.

Still, something tells me that if it were something that mattered to them but not the general populace, that they would continue the ads.

Thus, I can't applaud or decry them for this. For them it's about money more than morals, I would say.

Nothing I love more in an SNL thread than people complaining about how unfunny it is now. A) no it's not and B) why are you still watching a completely unfunny show for 90 minutes every weekend? That's not funny either, that's just sad. :(

I'm a 70s SNL fan and haven't watched it in the past 25 or so years, but I get them. So them dissing my religion is fodder for the sensitives.

But what chaps my ass is SNL fear of having the same gumption to make fun of Islam.

I guess "joke them if that can't take a f***" attitude only works if they're referring to anything non-Islam.

    Pansies.

Do you really believe they've never once made fun of Islam?
