What would you want the Dungeon Master to do?

  1. Try to sign D12 or CP3 and drop Asik or Lin

  3. Sign solid role-players and roll with our youth.

We have one of the best offenses in the league and are one of the best defenses with Asik in the middle. The problem is he can only really play 30 minutes a night effectively in our high octane team. I'd personally rather us try to sign a hybrid PF/C that can play as a third rotational big perhaps David West or Josh Smith or an elite wing defender i.e. Andre Iguodala and have Parsons come off of the bench as a sixth man. I'd like to leave the remaining salary we have so Morey could do some maneuvers for valuable trade assets or purchasing picks.

Of course, none of those FAs would be a long-term resolution for us, they'd shore up our key deficiencies short-term and allow us to be 2nd tier play-offs contenders and we could bank on the development of our youth long-term.

I don't want any part of Dwight Howard at $20M with his crook back, shoulder and attitude.

Chris Paul would be a nice addition obviously but he's not leaving LA. If he wants to though, you get him, and you bank on the development of one of our PFs.

Dwight Howard is the best player on any list. You'll have to suck it up with his crappy attitude if you want a chance at the championship, imo.

Dwight Howard is who Morey will go after

Harden was also recruiting him during the all-star break

I'd want to see the rest of the season play out before deciding on which of the big free agents we should go after, but in general I think we need more athletic defensive specialists on the perimeter, guys that focus on D, but can still contribute to the offense like Sefolosha or Battier when he was here.

Another good example would be Marion & Bell from the run n gun PHX teams.

I really want to see what D-Mo gives us over the next 20+ games before making that kind of a decision. PF might no longer be our weakest position.

Honestly, im happy where we are currently at. Ive accepted that.

And at this point, i DO NOT want josh smith or paul milsap.

Our team is growing. Our team is getting better. We are young. We have cap room.

We DO NOT need to blow that for a "maybe tier FA" aka Josh Smith, Paul Milsap, Al Jefferson.

Now....i say there is one FA that we could chase and his name is Dwight Howard. He is an absolute superstar. And worth the max. And with his acquistion we could then package Asik for a legit player at the 4. Main options - kevin love for sure. Lamarcus Aldridge would be a close second. Pau Gasol would be 3rd.

    Thats what i think

Where is the option for doing nothing? This core we got has so much potential I see no need to change anything too much. Our biggest needs are minor, mostly the bench.

If Garcia or Anderson doesn't work out, let's see if we can get a quality back-up for Harden, maybe even an upgrade over Delfino as a back-up 3 but I like what Carlos brings to the team. The only other thing I can think of is maybe a back-up C. I like Smith and we have yet to see what that German guy can bring, but I wouldn't touch our starting 5 and we got quality back-ups at the 1, 4 and 3 (mostly).

Our starting 5 rarely gets outplayed by any other teams first 5. it's just when McHale does those whole-squad subs that we get lit up ie the Clippers games.

Why the hell would you drop asik if you signed Dwight? Omer is on a three year contract and would be the league's best back up. No way morey drops omer if he signs dwight.

Dwight Howard. Even with all the garbage if he signs a 5 year contract you are set for the a half-decade. Can you imagine the 1-2 punch of Howard/Asik as centers? That would be sick.

I agree. With this cap room we can add some major parts. Ecsp off the bench. We can sign two or three veteran studs for reserve roles ie jarret jack, jamal crawford, etc.

We need someone who is a straight scorer off the bench. Maybe, just mayyyybe brooks can be that spark plug this year, but i doubt mchale gives him the time

Chris Paul. But we won't get him so I prefer, NONE. Wait for Kevin Love, that's all I have to say..

Because Asik is clearly not a backup center. Hes proving it now. We could get much more in a deal for him rather than just having him play his 15-20 mins a game of the bench. Dwight would play 35-40 mins a night. And neither can play the 4. Thats why the hell we would trade asik if we landed dwight BRAH

Not a great poll because it doesn't give us enough options.

I think if we chase D12, we should definitely keep Asik.

Our system is built around a defensive rebounder in the big man department, and so if we miss Howard, I hope we're active in looking for a bench guy to fill that role.

Personally I think we should chase Paul/ Howard, and if we fail to get them, go without and use the cap space to take on salary to gain a pick?

There will be a natural improvement in the team as they 'age'.

    (eg: OKC, 2008 13th| 2009 8th| 2010 4th| 2011 2nd + finals appearance)

I realise the "finals appearance" depends on having a 2nd star to complement Harden; but the squad we currently have is far more likely to progress to that point in the playoffs than a Denver or Memphis, who play without a star.

    Cap! Asik and Dwight: 8.3+20=28.3

They will take up almost 50% of the cap for ONE position. Not gonna happen.
