There are shadows sleeping on the horizon
Leave us scared and so afraid
As the fallout of a world divided
It brings her tears and so much pain
So we take cover from the dark
Hoping to find where we can start

RIP for a true warrior. A sad day for his people and this world.

Leaders installed militarily and unilaterally are never fully legitimate, but I never heard a big body count and I believe we still buy their oil. Probably had a bigger mouth than necessary.

    And Castro lives.

Just curious about this poster's background. Can anyone fill me in? I've heard him praise North Korea and was intrigued about his background so as to understand his views.

And to those who say Chavez is better off... tell that to my angry Venezuelan friend, Gabe, who hates Chavez with a burning passion (he moved here from Caracas a few years ago).

Yes those that left Venezuela don't like Chavez. That's probably partly why they left.

Obama has one less supporter of his socialist policies in the world today. At least Chavez was willing to admit he hated democracy...

Did he cross the border under the cover of night, belly crawling to dodge a hail of bullets or just fly over from a public airport?

My view is that we do not need to cheer for death or feel victory if some foreign people are starving.

My background has been checked by FBI many times. I refused to work for them. Are you one of them?

    A sad day. RIP Chavez.

He had many of the flaws of a typical leader, but delivered on promises to a far greater proportion of the people he governed than most leaders in recent history.

FYI the VP will take his place and elections will be held 30 days after.
