I'm not going to disrespect you as you have done me. But I'm also not an idiot and oi would put my basketball knowledge base up with you anytime. Consider my last post and show me in the CBA where there is any violation there. That's a simple, reasonable request. If you can't, then don't punk what I am putting out here.
I agree you guys are knowledgeable. But you have a problem recognizing when someone else is knowledgeable simply because they don't have Yao Ming status and 20,000 posts.
That's rediculous. Seriously, that's rediculous and absurd. If a new or relatively new member says something that jumps out at me as insightful or original, and original isn't easy to do around here, and I actually see the post, I give them their props and probably a feedback "pat on the back" for giving me something I enjoyed reading, and maybe even learned something from. I don't care how many posts someone has or how many bars they have next to their moniker. The reason I have a great deal of respect for members like NIKE or Bima (or R2K, for that matter) is because I have read numerous posts from them over the years that educated me about aspects of the CBA (in this instance. they know a hell of a lot about the league and basketball, as well), old and new, that I simply didn't understand, or didn't know to begin with. They're the Chandler Parsons' of this BBS, people with a track record of success who obviously know what they're doing. What I don't care for, and it doesn't matter how long they've been here, are the Royce White's of this board. The big talkers who don't listen to others, but would rather listen to themselves. Who make a lot of noise, signifying nothing. Who belittle others more to pump themselves up, rather than help to clean out the sludge in the BBS engine that slows things down. Who don't so much contribute to the discussions around here, but rather disrupt them because of their egos. Not saying that that describes you, but you're coming close to fitting the profile in this instance. It's not Rockets science. Hell, maybe that's exactly what it is. You should try listening more, and attempt to care less about whether your comment was right, wrong, or in between. I've learned more that way since I've been here than I ever learned by trying to prove I'm smarter than the next guy. Better to let your posts speak for themselves, and if they are proven wrong, give props to the fellow that helped you see the light, instead of getting involved to a useless argument that's not backed by the facts, but is purely speculation. There's nothing wrong with speculation, I do plenty of that, myself. What's wrong is ignoring the truth when it's staring you in the face. Food for thought.
Puuhhhhhlease. Let me get this straight. None of you arguing with bb can comment as to where in his post, as he asks, he is wrong about what rule is specifically broken. You can only speculate that Morey didnt do this because in your minds it would be breaking the rules. Got it. I have read both sides of this argument and I can definately see how it very well could of played out as bb lined out. Dont sweat it man. I think you've layed out your argument much better that stating...I think thats against the rules and I dont think DM would do that. I have been here since before 99 and I agree that a lot of the so called old schoolers think they cant be wrong.
Beverley in his 2nd season would be better than Brooks who is a no defense playing, non-playmaking 5'10 PG.
Yeah, I'm not interested on the ' Who has the biggest pecker' argument here. I simply started the Brooks release and signing was part of the trade discussions and the reason for it happening that way was to give us another unguaranteed contract to use this offseason in trade if the right trade comes along. Multiple established posters here are screaming about that supposition saying it would be against the rules. I simply showed where it isn't and asked for proof that what probably happened was somehow illegal. I don't think it is illegal and I don't think Morey would take the risk of it being illegal. Posters with established reputations here do make mistakes. I don't even try to point out our correct all of them. For instance one well-established reputable poster suggested very recently that we can't use our MLE because we have cap space left. That is false. We could have given that contract out pro-rated before we gave Brooks his contract. But I didn't bother correcting it. I was more interested in finding out if I was wrong. Still haven't found it. I do think it's funny that people can't see the connection between the Brooks contract and the trade.
Well Brooks has done more so far... sounds unfair because Beverley just started but the book is still unwritten on Beverley as far as playoff experience. Brooks and Harden have that and have had some great games.

I don't know why there's an argument about how it was handled between Rockets and Kings. If bballholic has a conspiracy theory, let him have it. Who cares. We got AB back on a no-lose deal. Let's just be happy.
We don't need him to make plays. We need him out there as a sixth man helping us score when Harden or Lin are out of the Lineup.
Exactly... Who the hell cares?
In the end, the bottom line is all that matters, the rest of that **** is just unnecessary noise.
Please do correct it, it was from me. The Rockets have used cap space this year to sign players (including Lin, Asik, Delfino, etc.). From Larry Coon To sign Lin et. al, the Rockets renounced their mid level exception. You don't know what you are talking about. Carl already brought all of the relevant points regarding circumvention of the spirit of the salary cap. You can choose to believe whatever you want, but to most of us, a "wink wink" deal of us signing Brooks is pretty plainly against the spirit of the CBA, and thus illegal. Keep your conspiracy theory, but don't try to promote it as something legal or recommended.
Seriously? ROOM MID-LEVEL EXCEPTION -- This exception is available only to teams that drop far enough below the cap to use cap room, and lose their Bi-Annual, Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level and Taxpayer Mid-Level exceptions (see question number 26). This exception cannot be used if the team has already used the Bi-Annual, Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level or Taxpayer Mid-Level exceptions.
Tell ya what. If you are so CONVINCED that you are the god of CBA knowledge, then you would jump to prove us wrong in a very resounding way, yes? Larry Coon is the established guy who EVERYONE in the NBA biz goes to for clarification of CBA matters....why don't you go ask him(he will answer questions from most folks when he has time) about this? You have been told by BIMA, NIKE and myself that what you are proposing is clearly illegal , but you dont want to listen to those of us who have made a study of the rules and regs of NBA cap issues. It has nothing whatsoever to do with how long you have been here....the fact remains you do not know what you are talking about and you refuse to acknowledge it. I really wouldnt care about yopur ignorance except you are running around my favorite board spreading the misinformation that you have ABSOLUTELY ZERO CLUE ABOUT. You whine about me disrespecting you? Try saying something worth respecting.
The reason we gave Brooks the lump sum contract instead of the MLE contract(which is prorated) is because we made him whole for the money he lost in the buyout and we wanted to have the flexibility to still sign another contract for the MLE by the end of the season.
I don't think I am the god of anything. I'm sorry you feel that way. I understand you have studied the rules and regs. Do you think I've studied then or do you think I'm just shooting from the hip? By the way, I think Bima may see the connection between the Brooks signing and the trade.
