    Harden
    Asik
    Parsons
    Lin
    Dmo

I put these in order of importance to the team. I believe in the future Dmo will be second on this list but presently this is the reality.

    1. Asik - If Asik gets injured, the Rockets are done, simple as that.

    2. Lin - Keep refusing to pass immediately past half court, son. When you refuse to defer on initiating the offense, the Rockets are elite. Also, don't listen to the inept whining of fools, keep the help defense coming.

    3/4. The other 2/3 of HOU's Harden-Lin-Motiejunas offensive core:
Harden - Play some defense, son, and learn to make more hockey assists. When you tunnel-vision on only the bucket and the assist, that's when you turn it over and give up a sure 2 pointer on the other end.
Motiejunas - D-Mo screens relentlessly for the ballcarrying Lin/Harden, which makes a ridiculous amount of difference to the Rockets' offense. With D-Mo on the court our offense with Lin/Harden is off the charts. Also, learn how to recover to your own man after helping on defense.

    5. Parsons - Play some defense, son. Where did your defense go? Keep cutting and keep spotting up, but for the love of gawd please stop asking for the ball to initiate the offense.

lol without Harden we'd be back to where we were the last three years in basketball purgatory hoping and praying to get a superstar.

I was expecting to get the popcorn out when someone inevitably put Lin as number 2 -- but over Harden? I gotta say that caught me off guard.

So the player with the greater impact on win% is not the better player? How one is to select then? By selecting whoever is labelled a star or superstar on NBA.com?

Honestly if somebody had said that at the beginning of the season, I would have been beyond surprised myself. We really have McHale/Morey/whoever is responsible for the experiments taking the ball out of Lin's hands to thank for this conclusion. We have been a well below .500 team when we take the ball out of Lin's hands, and Harden's efficiency in those games have been pretty darn mediocre, if not downright poor.

I am convinced that we can still fight for a playoff spot without Harden. Without Lin we would be a sub-.500 team; without Asik we would be wrestling TOR for lottery position.

^ I share this view. After reading this thread started wondering if Asik should be King!

But they are playing different positions. You can't rank who the better player is like that.

I love Asik, and I think we would be nowhere as good as we are without him shoring up the middle. But, let's not get delusional here. Harden is worth 5 Asiks.

    1. Harden
    2. Asik
    3. Parsons
    4. Lin
    5. Delfino

And why were you "waiting" for that? Oh yeah, because you look for reasons to troll.
