I think it's very possible Lebron has taken something. Explosiveness is such a big part of being great in the NBA. But I doubt they go at it too much. Probably to help recover from nagging injuries and such. The downside is that it is hard on the joints and in the NBA - anything that is hard on your joints is a no no.
OJ was suspended in the middle of the season last year. Not sure where you are getting your reports from.
It's common knowledge that the NBA threw a few guys under the bus to make it look like they are running a legit testing program. But they are never going to out one of their stars. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8904906/daring-ask-ped-question The following anecdote is 100 percent true … NBA players get tested up to four times during the course of a season. The fourth time can happen at any point from October to June, but once it happens, that's it. So if your fourth test occurs after your 71st game, you're clear the rest of the way. It's a running joke within NBA circles, something of a get-out-of-jail-free card: Once you pee in that fourth cup, you're good to go. Put whatever you want into your body. Feel like smoking enough weed to make Harold and Kumar blush? Knock yourself out. Feel like replacing your blood with cleaner blood so you have more endurance for the playoffs? Knock yourself out. Feel like starting a testosterone cycle because you might have to play 25 grueling playoff games over the next 10 weeks? Knock yourself out. Remember how competitive these guys are. What would they do for an edge? How far would they go? And why are we giving them the choice? -------------------------------------------------------------- NBA "testing policy" is considered an absolute joke to everyone in the know. Anyone that thinks NBA players are not doping is extremely naive.
This runs directly counter to the only tested once per year, and it being in training camp that you posted earlier. I'm sure PEDs is prevelant in the NBA just like any sport, but it is a lot harder to believe your articles when you post 2 that run contrary to each other in the span of less than an hour.
for example, in place of hgh these days, they use peptides which stimulate a natural increase of hgh. The only effective measure against most of the recent PED's is the biopassport, what it does is essentially create a record of your readings, even if they can't detect the PED, most fluctuations can't be caused by natural means and so.... For example, Lance Armstrong was dsq'd from his two recent TdF's, not because of the whole drug scandal that stripped him of his wins, but because he had abnormal fluctuations in his biopassport readings, no drug was actually discovered.
The point of that post was just to show that the NBA didn't even test for PEDs and Congress had to force them to do so. The next article was to point out that the system they implemented is a joke. It seems that few people here understand this problem and seemed to think the NBA is actually running a legit testing program. If these articles are not true, David Stern would have sued those media outlets. Do you really think they could get away with saying the US Congress investigated them and scolded them over not testing, if it was not true? That Stern would allow a big media source to claim something like that if it wasn't true? Seriously?
PED's are a part of sports these days; people shouldn't use PED's as an excuse to hate on players like Lebron, accept it as a part of sport and move on.
Did people actually take this source seriously? Everyone one knows incarcerated bob tweets a bunch of Bull**** if you follow football and read his tweets. Another nonstory from a guy who's basically an anon with no picture of himself
Someone actually called this source/ Bob a journalist LOL! This is the only forum I've seen to actually take this source seriously
I know you're on your high chair but the purpose of this thread isn't to discuss some shady NBA doping scene, it's all about Bobwatchamacallit's wonky "LBJ has his best friend get his stuff and has him sign "LJ" on the register to make it legit" story. It's ****ing bogus.
One of the articles has to be inacurate or dated. They say two different things. The ESPN Grantland is obviously more accurate than the U.S. Congress which does nothing but waste time with these steroid issues that they really aren't fully educated about. Do I think David Stern wants to sue members of the U.S. Congress? No. That would make this a much larger story.
IM SORRY BUT IF YOU HATE ON ATHLETES WHO TAKE PEDS YOU ARE A DUMBARSE AND A HYPOCRITE. If its ok for you to take peds to improve your performance, your look, your life, it should be ok to take in sports....WHERE THEY NEED IT MOST. Ped use is not wrong at all. The media has hijacked rationale thinking for their own profit. It's not wrong at all. There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to enhance their performance be it on the field, in the ring, in the classroom or in the bedroom. The problem arises when there are people who are apprehensive about trying new methods or outright refuse to use drugs to enhance their performance, cry foul when someone else isn't natural like they are. For some reason there are people that sympathize with these whiners and that's why they are banned/illegal and have a negative image. IMO, if you are apprehensive about using a drug or an unconventional method to enhance your performance, then clearly it isn't very important to you. Because if it was, you'd be using them. Here's what people fail to realize. Peds in a sports context is the equivalent of an Ace Card. You have one chance to play this Ace Card. And most if not all athletes play this Ace Card when they are at their absolute peak. If anything athletes that use are not doing it to compensate for a lack of something, but because their body can't keep up with their work ethic. There is a plateau that they simply cannot push through naturally. Most people who play their Ace Card too early, typically fail and never become anything or their athletic careers burn dry after a short period of time because they used steroids when they hadn't even reached their peak yet. They have relied on steroids to do most of, if not all the work. Denying ped use is denying the next step in human evolution.
