    Right.

Cause no rookie's defense has ever improved, like ever.

His defensive positioning and footwork looked vastly superior to the earlier games. Very impressed.

Those off balance faders usually fall for Dirk. I think he had a bit of an off night.

Did people in this thread actually watch the game? If not, did you watch any post-game interviews? I'm guessing no on both accounts just because it was very clear that Chandler guarded Dirk every single time down the floor when he was in the game unless there was a cross-match somewhere.

The post-game interviews address specifically that Chandler was the one guarding Dirk and you can see the playful banter between him and McHale when Chandler gets asked about it.

Regarding Marion, he did an average job on defense in my opinion. Marion had some open looks he missed (not necessarily while Dmo was guarding him). There was another possession this game where Marion, like Ilyasova, pumped faked a 3 and D-Mo didn't close out further on his shooting hand and Marion shot an unperturbed 3 ball in his grill. He has some close out issues that are tough to watch, but he'll get better. I just think credit should go to where it's due: Chandler or possibly Dirk according to McHale.

Although, I know this was a thread made for petty reasons, much like every other stupid thread on the GARM now, so I doubt anyone will take this seriously.

    Dirk guarded himself.

I've watched the game. At the times when Dirk was continuosly getting flustered it was D-Mo who was guarding him. He had his hands in Dirk's face and pretty much shut him down.

Show me the video on that. And isn't it funny how a few people here are the only ones who noticed it was Dmo on Dirk, and the media, McHale, Chandler himself, and a bunch of other people in the post-game thought it was Chandler on Dirk the whole time....

We started the game with Chandler on Dirk, did any coaches get any credit for that move? But then again, the coaches can't even tell that it was Dmo on him the whole time, so they must really be the worst coaching staff evar, rite?

DMo had the length and foot speed to disrupt Dirk big time. You could see it in Dirk's frustration when he'd get the ball too far from the basket. He always looked like he was pissed at his teammates because of it.

Did you watch the game? Chandler guarded Dirk a lot but DMo also guarded Dirk a lot. My advice to you is to actually watch the game and then this will not be a debate.

I have to wonder if you watched the game if you DIDN'T notice D-Mo guarding Dirk for stretches and the frustration on his face (in particular when Beverly came over and helped steal the ball and then Dirk stuck his butt out and knocked Beverly down earning the foul).

Chandler's and Dmo's minutes almost overlapped the entire game. There is no way that Dmo guarded Dirk as much as Chandler, and that is completely evident from just listening to the post-game interviews without going back and rewatching the game to log the numbers. Did the media/McHale/Parsons just leave out the exquisite job that Dmo did because of another conspiracy?

Go back and log some numbers if you're so sure about being correct. He got cross-matched on him a couple times and was guarding him at least for one portion of the game while Chandler was sitting, but the overall body of work on Dirk was done by Chandler.

Note how the article mentions that Parsons AND D-Mo guarded Dirk

When the Rockets pulled away it was Chandler on Dirk, not DMO. It's humorous that people in here are giving the credit to DMO when everyone internally for the Rockets are giving Chandler the credit... Don't get me wrong DMO is showing improvement but he definitely still has a lot to work on defensively

Yeah kind of hard to miss a 7 foot Euro guarding a 7 foot Euro....DMo did a very good job, but so did Chandler. The difference is that we expect good D from Chandler, we don't yet expect good D from DMo, I think that'll change over time.
