Cosart is in the 95-97 range with his heat early.

Cosart out with the bases loaded in the 3rd. They're his runners.

So he threw hard but otherwise, not a great outing.

Josh Zeid allowed one of the runners to score. Andy Dirks scored as Jhonny Peralta grounded into a double play

The defense was terrible last year as well. At least in the infield. OF defense was much better.

I was pulling for Cosart to get the long reliever/ 6th starter spot out of spring training but I think either White or Lyles will take the job. Ely hasn't looked very good either.

On the other hand, Lucas Harrell was solid again.

McTag mentioned that Harrell focused on the development of his curveball as well and how he wants to have a strong fourth option. Harrell is really blossoming if this takes off. Considering he finished the year so strong, it will be really interesting to see if he puts up some amazing numbers to start off the year. Really pulling for him.

First off day of the spring... First day of Minor League spring training.

Brian T. Smith (@ChronAstros): #Houston #Astros' Bud Norris threw four innings during a simulated game today in Kissimmee. 75 pitches, 44 strikes. #MLB

@ChronAstros: #Astros' Norris faced prospects Carlos Correa, Jonathan Singleton. Session was viewed by Porter, Brocail. #MLB

Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart): Bud Norris threw 75 pitches (44 strikes) in simulated game, facing Jonathan Singleton, Carlos Correa and Telvin Nash, among others.

Houston Astros (@astros): Top prospect C. Correa opened eyes during today's simulated game with an inside-park HR (not vs. Norris). Showed very good speed. Just 18.

I've been wondering if they've been considering a move to Arizona since the entire rest of their new division is there. Not sure that matters but it seems like a natural thing to do.

I don't understand how moving your AA team from Corpus Christie would be streamlining. How hard is it to get to CC or OKC for that matter. The only things that would make more sense would be to get Round Rock back so that both teams are closer. Other than that, there really aren't many better options than Corpus and OKC to keep things "streamlined".

Many of us have advocated for sometime for them to get out of Lancaster. It's inflating hitter's stats and destroying pitcher's confidence.

The Rangers are playing a ST game in San Antonio this month at the Alamodome. They are making a huge push to becoming Texas' team. The Astros are doing nothing. They are taking a page straight out of the Texans playbook. Ignore the rest of the state (poor choices for the caravan at inconvenient locations and times), do no other marketing, allow radio coverage to be on a station where they likely won't carry 50% of the games (1300 in Austin), and lose all sense of a presence anywhere outside of Greater Houston. Doesn't help the fact that Time Warner will likely be low on the list of priorities when CSN starts to put the pressure on to get covered. Time Warner is the primary carrier in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas.

Watching the game here at Osceola County Stadium today. Nice pitching so far by Humber and Chia Jen Lo looked good out there as well as Humber earlier in the game.

Just saw Anthony Rendon hit a double to right field on a rope, the guy ca straight up hit the ball, the sound was wicked. He did however get thrown out at third base trying to steal.

This is my first time at Osceola County Stadium, pretty easy to find and a nice venue (reminds me of playing high school ball in small stadiums). All in all its been nice, the family is enjoying the game, except for the ridiculous line to get tickets (buy through ticket master next time) it's been a great experience.

Hopefully some of the younger guys like Springer and Correa get in towards the later innings.

Obviously they want Round Rock back. Another potential option is a return to New Orleans, which should be Astros territory.

For AA, San Antonio would be as good a fit as CC, especially since that is territory we are competing with the Rangers for.

Advanced A is where the team obviously needs a move. Out there all by itself isn't in the best interest of the club, not to mention its effects on players stats.
