http://www.nba.com/advancedstats/li...44-2547-2548-2617-201596;year=201213;season=r Took a quick look at the efficiency of our new starting 5 with D-Mo. Early returns are pretty staggering, though I know its a limited sample size (52 min). For the sake of comparison, included the Heat starting 5. Hope this keeps up! Tool is cool to spend some time with. Spoiler: Beverley has also made some positive impact. (And as always, lock if this was posted elsewhere, thanks!)
No doubt you are going to see several easy points to D-Mo and assists to Lin on a nightly basis. Whether D-Mo dramatically improves on his D is the key for this spot on the team.
Really nice graphic. Huge jumps across the board. What I'm really loving is the increase in percentage of rebounds when DMo is on the floor with Asik.
Asik and Dmo together is a fantastic duo. Motiejunas has found Asik for easy buckets since he started playing with him. He's a really good passer for a big. The stays out of Asik's way and his rebounding has been getting better each game. I always knew DMo would fit like a glove with this team.
So... that image reminds me of this: Does anyone else notice that James Harden is even easier to spot on the TV screen (or even a computer screen while watching a crappy stream) recently?
Yeah that's exactly why I've questioned Mchale's rotations the last few games. Considering he's started the last few games and Mchale has a tight rotation this linup has only seen 52 minutes together while tearing it up. Mchale has done a good job with the team but he clearly lacks as a coach in certain areas.
Yea one thing i notice is DMo is an excellent passer and that makes the offense more dangerous. Patrick can pass but Dmo is like Llade Divac out there.
So far so good overall. That being said they beat the Magic and Mavs who are a combined 42-77, and lost to the Bucks and Wizards who are a combined 48-67. I like what I have seen so far, but I want to see what he does against tougher competition. Still if he can get his conditioning up, I have a hard time imagining he won't be better than Patterson or Morris most nights.
I just like the physical make of this group. Two long seven footers, another tall foward in Parsons and blinding speed in the backcourt. This team has the tools to play waaayyy better defense then they have been. Good to see that we continue to be on the right track.
DMo is ridiculously good on offense. It almost looks effortless. Not only has he done well as a floor spacer with his 3pt range, but he scores off cuts, in transition, and pick and roll as well. In his limited post up attempts, he's never looked outmuscled or ineffective and usually scores. He's also a good passer, finding Asik inside or making the extra pass to the open shooter. I know it's early, but I can't remember our last big man prospect that was this versatile offensively.
Holy ****, what a great young lineup. I say keep the following: Lin Harden Parsons Motiejunas Asik Robinson All we need is a great defensive wing stopper and we are set for a long time.
At first I thought this was a beard joke. Then I realized he's the only black person in the starting line up.
Yeah..this is what i've been saying. I get that there are 'sexier' players out there (PAUL, Smith, Dwight) but out of those who do we have a realistic shot of getting (i say Paul and dwight stay in LA) and do we NEED to place max $ on a josh smith? I think this 5 has real potential (yes..that dreaded word) but there is a good chance one of DMO, Parsons, Lin, Robinson, even Jones emerge as that true second star. I'd like to keep this team in tact AS IS (some bench upgrades are cool--like you said a plus wing defender) and give them another year--if it doesn't pan out get ready for free ageny in 2014 when you know who is available. Also, we could spread some of the $$$ out to our existing guys if they turn out to be stars.
