Here's my top 5 list. This is my opinion and I love Lin, but I think Parsons has been the more consistent starter this year other than Harden obviously. Asik though not the most skilled big men, is probably the 2nd most important player in our team with his defensive impact and rebounding. Next year, with more experience under his belt, Lin could easily be 2nd, 3rd best, barring any superstar trades.

    1. Harden (Obviously)
    2. Parsons
    3. Asik
    4. Lin
    5. Dmo.

How can people seriously not have Asik at the top of there list. We could survive without Hardens scoring & still be a decent team but without Asik on D the Rockets are a terrible team. Omer is the MVP of this team hands down.

    -Harden
-Asik/Jlin/Parsons (these 3 are seriously pretty equal right now. They all bring different things to the table. Asik brings rebounding and a big body. Lin can be a spark, great court vision/steals and parsons is the best all around player of the 3. They even seem to take turns on being awesome from game to game. Some nights its lin. Others its parsons and asik seems to always grab his rebounds)
    -Dmo

Good point. But we'd have to see an extended number of games without Harden to see if that theory holds true though.

No we don't. Lets be serious imagine Omer not on this team how many games do you think the Rockets win? Over a 5 game stretch? I say we lose all of them or maybe squeeze out one win. Now imagine Harden not on this team I think the Rockets could squeeze out maybe 2-3 wins. Rockets are the worst defensive team in the NBA without Omer like who would be our center? Omer? Greg? Without harden other guys would pick up the slack & step up on offense, we wouldn't be as good offensively but we wouldn't be awful. Without Asik we are definitively the worst defensive team in the NBA.

    Harden
    Lin

    Parsons
    Delfino

Harden because he is the alpha, it is his team. You can talk about Omer's defense but this is still a league based on superstars. There were many times in the clutch that Harden came up big for this team. Rocket fans know how hard it is to win without such players, without that guy you can give the ball to and say "Go score." Harden is that guy. If the team had to get rid of either Asik or Harden who are you getting rid of?

Lin because I think he has a ton of potential. Whenever he plays his game he pretty much goes off and dominates.

Asik for his rebounding and defense.

Parsons is down there because he can be so up and down on both sides of the court. Only a 2nd year player though.

Delfino over D-mo here, big shot taker and maker. His vet presence has really helped. I was so against getting him earlier, happy to be wrong about him.

I believe Lin has the potential to be the 2nd best player, but he is not there yet.

This. But I think Dmo will be better than Delfino sooner than people think. Give it a few games after he get used to the starter minutes.

I can't really rank the players because they do different things on the court..

But if you are talking about the level of importance and not based on whether they beat each other 1v1, then it's pretty simple for me.

    1. Asik - literally makes the difference of the team
    2. Harden - super offensive threat
    3. Lin/Parsons - both offensive and defensive threat
    4. Lin/Parsons
    5. Beverley/D-Mo - brings energy to the team

Everything else is give and take for me.

    Best PG-Lin
    Best SG-Harden
    Best Center- Asik
    Best SF-Parsons
    Best PF-D-mo.

How can you compare a Defensive Center with a Scoring SG and argue who's better?

    1)Harden
    2)Asik
3./4) Parsons/Lin (both not really consistent enough)
5)Delfino (but looks like D-Mo will take over soon)

    I go:

    Asik
    Harden
Lin (This man's game usually makes the difference if Asik/Harden don't)
    Parsons
DMo (On a team relying on outscoring the opposition, he makes a difference all too often lately)

    Not in the top 5:

Delfino (one hot game from him means we beat anyone)
Beverly (super important in games where Jeremy Lin isn't doing well)

All in all, this whole team depends on the performance of others. I haven't seen a Rockets team this well congealed since Robert Horry's Rockets.

Posting again because I think the +/- effect of any of the team is really tough to rank seeing as this team is built to be a team.
