I agree. Pacing is painstakingly slow. As soon as it was revealed that it was Morgan and that he was alive after being shot I was thinking "so how long are they going to drag Morgan's unconsciousness out?"

Episode didn't do much to advance the main story arc other than to change Rick's view of Michonne. I guess this is important.

If you are sentimental about Morgan, wondered about him since the pilot and wanted some kind of closure regarding the guy, you probably loved it. For me, it was OK.

I blacked out while paying the Carl 'I had/have to' drinking game. Also, Rick needs to get those jerry curls under control.

They seemed way to casual about everything this episode. Rick just mumbles, "Carl, watch out for that wire that trips that giant ax." and walks away. "Oh you want to go shopping with all those booby traps out there. Go ahead." Then Carl leans up against an old door just chilling with a wall of zombies pushing up against it. No biggie.

What did they pick up at the end? Was a backpack that belonged to that guy running after them earlier?

Yep. Guy running after them got torn apart by zombies and they picked up his pack. Seems odd for a guy who's managed to survive 10-11 months into the zombie apocalypse to get ripped to shreds simply because Rick refused to stop for him.

I liked the fact that Michone spoke several times without that constipated look on her face. I was beginning to think the actress was incapable of doing other emotions.

I find it hard to believe that it was that easy for Rick to make his way back to his hometown, but this is the first time they've been. Particularly during the time between the farm and the prison, I would have thought they'd go back if ut was just a simple afternoon trip.

Also, the characters seemed to act in very arbitrary ways that were clearly designed to move the plot.

I like the actor who plays Morgan. They should bring him back. He's a lot more entettaining to watch than a bunch of the regular cast.

Lmao I was thinking the same thing when we saw him dead. You would think that all the people who are alive by this point in their storyline would know how to "survive". Maybe this guy just gave up on life and being alone, especially after they denied him.

Maybe he hid himself in the bag that they picked up.

More likely to happen than zombies running around in Atlanta

I actually thought that Morgan served as a self-realization for Rick that if he kept going down that road where he just sees things and can't get past Lori's death he'll end up like Morgan, this sad crazy man who is stuck and refuses to budge.

If you look at it that way, this episode was pretty darn good.

Yup. I think thats the angle they were going with. Which is why he had that conversation with Micheone towards the end about him seeing things.

Hopefully this episode will trigger his sanity.

BTW, Morgan is smart. He didnt want to join Rick's group with the one-blackman quota that they have in place.

You guys don't understand "The Walking Dead". It's not about ACTION....it has never been about 'lets kill ZOMBIES". The a character study of humans and society when normal conventions breakdown and their reactions to it. The comic books flow the same way. It is not about action. If you want action, go watch the many zombie movies where their only interested in Zombie killing or people killing.

Michonne has a backstory. There is a reason she is closed and reserved. As she gets more integrated in the group, she will open up a bit more.

Last nights episode was very strong. While I thought it was well done, really think this episode could have been done during season 4, just kind of kills the momentum of the main story line of this season.

Usually when two characters talk in the show it can be pretty painful dialogue. It's amazing what a quality actor in Lennie James can do to make his conversation with Rick feel like these guys have been together this whole time. The pilot was one of my favorite episodes because it was able to capture the mood and feel of what a zombie apocalypse is like.

Too many times you forget these characters are in a zombie apocalypse, seeing the way Morgan had changed and how it affected Rick (who was well down that path) was refreshing to see. It was one of my favorite episodes in a long time that didn't have some big reveal or a big action scene. Supposedly the guy who wrote this episode is the showrunner for season 4.
