If they were to both reach their ceilings, they would be a nice complement to each other. T-Rob's potential is to become an elite defender/rebounder and strong, athletic hustle guy. D-Mo is a more skilled offensive player who you want to feed the ball and let him make his own shot. But he will probably never be elite at defense or rebounding.
:grin: I didn't think about that. I think both guys have higher ceilings than their predecessors though. What the hell is it with Morey and getting 2-headed PFs?? What should we call them? RobMo? MoRob? The floor is open gentlemen
They would complement each other, I like it when the backup plays with a different skill set it seems to mix things up some. Kind of like when we had Brooks starting and Kyle coming off of the bench, Kyle's different style of play would help change the flow of the game a lot of the time.
D-Mo just outplayed Dirk Nowitzki and looked like the teams 2nd best defensive player....imagine once he gets in shape
Well draftnet compares him to Nowitzki and Bargaini and draftexpress has his best case scenario as Pau Gasol
Speaking of Kyle, are we seeing the next Lowry/Landry combo in Beverley/Robinson, they certainly play balls out.
I hope they play well but I think that Lin and Dmo are better without a doubt. That being said I think it's always better to have good backups putting pressure on the starters.
While I think if dmo could reach his potential then he's the no brainer pick simply because he is 7ft and quick. Now if you'd ask me who I think is more likely to reach his potential then if have to go with Trob. He has traits you can't teach either in rebounding the ball and elite athleticism. I don't think you'll find a quicker faster pf in the NBA right now. I said it in college and ill say it now Trob has the ability to become a Blake griffin type player. His jumper is already more refined than griffins he doesn't have that hitch that griffin does. He plays really good defense and is all over the place disrupting plays. I really believe that if you give Trob 30+ min a night every night he would avg. 12/10 no problem. Would he shoot 45%? Prob but these are easily fixed problems. He also has the trait that every superstar in the league has and that's the ability to draw fouls at an encredible rate. 6 ft attempts in 18 min is really really good. I really enjoy his love for his teammates and the communication he has with harden and parsons. They always are trying to help Trob out and when on the bench Trob is always the first one up to high five the players on the court. These are great traits to have I truely believe harden and parsons love playing with Trob and think he's the pf of the future next time your at the game watch how those 3 interact.
It's very hard to say. I am pretty high on both of these guys, I'm not going to get attached to either of them though. If that bonafide surefire star is out on the market through trade, both of these guys could be gone knowing Morey.
Yep. I never thought robinson was a great talent, but I thought his drive would prevent him from being a failure. D-Mo has great talent when you look at his height to skills makeup. I mean to be that fluid at 7ft is special. Robinson doesn't have special traits.
not the length. Gasol is freakishly long. which leads to many good things, especially when it comes to shot blocking, rebounds.
Love Motiejunas - but for the moment, it's important to keep him next to a strong rebounder and ideally a good post help defender. Asik - Robinson, today, would be a bad idea because you double up on strengths (rebounding) and weaknesses (scoring). Asik - Motiejunas then Motiejunas - Robinson Would be how I'd want the three of them playing. And I'd really like to see what Terrance Jones can do on the court.
