Lin is an American with heritage from the Independent nation of Taiwan one of our closest allies -- why in the world would we dislike him?
Are you serious ? I know Lin has many non-Asian fans but let's be real, most are Asian. That's why it's Asian night in every arena he plays in and people tweet about it being an Asian-invasion. Also You seen videos of his Asia tour as well.

Man somethings never change... This is like Yao part 2... Yes there was just as much tension when Yao was here. The problem back then was with some YOF's... not all all of them and the same is with Lin situation. This has been stated millions of times on this board, but yet nothing has changed. No one on this board has a problem with Lin, the problem is when some fans put Lin above the team and act as if he can do no wrong or it's never Lin's fault. If all you care about or are going to talk about is Jeremy Lin, go post on/ create a Jeremy Lin website. LOF pollute game threads and make the GARM uninhabitable.
It's an Asian tour so normally all will be Asian's in there...Kobe, Rondo, Shaq...and so on...when they had a tour in Asia they are always mobbed with their Asian fans... Yeah, maybe most of his fans are Asian but most of his "Asian" fans are not littering the GARM as people are claiming... People forget that Lin had a diverse background aside form being a great Basketball player...He got an Asian heritage...an Ivy-League education...and a Christian faith....so technically, you are clustering those 4 into 1..and it's all boils down to him being ASIAN.... What about those the other Asian player in NBA...Yi Jianlian...what's your take on him then? He is a pure Chinese player..but have you heard anything about him?
I think it was mentioned at SSAC this weekend -- our brains are hardwired to seek out narratives even if they're not there. When the thing driving your connection to a player is "I want to see him overcome all the obstacles that come with him being Asian," then the natural tendency is to look at everything through that lens. Look, I have no problem with a segment of the fanbase rooting heavily for one particular player. What irks me is when they turn against other players or coaches and make racial accusations. Its unfair to assume that people secretly want Lin to fail because he's "different". Too many people are convinced of this, and frankly its impossible to reason with them.
