I have to think the Rockets are going to release Royce at some point. He's just taking up a roster spot. No way the Rockets pick up the option for a 3rd year.

Two techs (spaced apart). I didn't watch the whole game, so I'm unsure why/how he got the first one, but go to the 4:55 mark of the 4th qtr for the 2nd tech. While Honeycutt was launching a 3 and hitting it (after the Warriors' announcer had just said most of his buckets were around the rim), you'll see White trying to establish position for a possible rebound. If you ask me, the guy he was defending just fell down like he was shot. Looked like an absolute flop to me. You can hear a whistle blown off-camera after that and I'm guessing White probably b****ed about the flop to the ref or something. Whatever caused it wasn't in camera-view.

That is at the 2:16:10 mark of the video, for those who want to see it. It looks like the first technical is with 9:01 left in the third quarter. You can see it in the video at the 1:32:30 mark.

Royce is angry because Hilton Armstrong jumped up for a board over/behind him and may have hit his arm. What upsets me though is Royce's body language... absolutely horrible. After that no-call, he glares at the ref and stops playing. Santa Cruz then scores with Royce's back to the play basically. He continues talking with the ref after the timeout, and says something while walking away (a good distance away, in fact). The ref's ears perk up, he looks over and T's him up just before the broadcast cuts away.

For the few minutes I watched him, his body language was like that. He seems a step or two slow on defense. Then on offense, he tries to do stuff that he shouldn't be doing like dribbling through multiple defenders in the lane. There are other times you see he makes an effort, but it's half-hearted, like reaching on defense or doing the matador defense.

I dont really know what to think about White. It seems the Vipers or the Rockets asked him to tone it down and he really didnt even handle the ball much. Seven points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. To be honest he didnt have much of a chance for rebounds as he was stationed at the 3 point line at the top of the key in the Vipers' offense and the Vipers guards are all score first guards it seems. The d league as a whole just seems like a real me-first kinda league where everyone is trying to showcase themselves. Not a lot of team play, imo. Royce seems to have a high bb iq and it seemed like he was making the right decisions. He had a +1 in 25 minutes in an 18 point loss, the only viper starter to have a +. Honeycutt for example had 25 points and 13 rebounds in 33 minutes but had a -19, Just really think this a lost season for White and if he shows up motivated and in shape for next year's Summer League then maybe, just maybe he will have a chance to be a contributor.

Am I alone in my suspicions ... that Royce is just putting on a dog and pony show for us ... with help from his agent ... to force the Rockets into releasing him ... so that he can get picked up by a championship caliber team like Miami or OKC. At which time he will act like a sane, normal person and play like a rookie of the year.

well... it won't work for this season - b/c March 1st was the deadline. I suspect that if he keeps this up - he won't be playing anywhere soon

Man Royce is gonna to be something. He has a poor man's Lebron potential mixed with all kinds of emotional and maturity issues. I still believe he will make it work

Royce actually played alright. He just didn't seem interested. However he did great work setting screens. (though most were uncalled moving screens)

We need to find somebody to get through to White.

The guy is an attitude away from being a very good player in this league.

With all the drama that has surrounded RW, I still wanted to believe he could get it together. It's early but, looking more and more like he won't make it. Hope I'm wrong but, my faith White will be a productive NBA player for the Rockets is all but gone.

I was on the Lets-wait-and-see wagon but man 2 ejections in a 2 weeks is a bit much even if they are questionable.

I gave up on him this season. I don't expect much from him and I don't think he expects much from himself at this point. I watched a portion of the game and his body language is very off putting. He must just be frustrated with everything that has gone on to this point.

Someone else said maybe he will have a good off-season and get his priorities in order, I'm now hoping so as well. The way our roster is constructed since the deadline, it looks as though he will be in the d-league for a while. D-mo,Robinson and Smith are in his way. Luckily for Royce, Robinson and Smith have been underwhelming this season. More so Smith than Robinson. Robinson is new, so I'm cutting him some slack.
