Why? Because he is on McHale's sh#t list.

Or maybe he has a wrist injury?

Perhaps, but I doubt this is the sole reason. Jones got some time at the very beginning of the season (I'm recalling one of the early Lakers games where he gave Kobe a 4-point play), but Jones hasn't even seen trash time since then. I think the issue goes beyond just an injury.

D-Mo looked better in practice and moved ahead of Jones.

And of course Robinson is getting minutes before Jones. It's a big trade, coming with expectations of him being a potential future starter, and he's the 5th pick.

Just no space for Jones really. I can see Jones getting some tryout minutes if Robinson continues to look lost out there.

Possibly they though he wasn't ready earlier, and now he is hurt. Or maybe he can't play.

Mchale give this guy some time. Really don't care if its garbage minutes or 3 sparring minutes in a few quarters, we need his tenacity in the interior. Beverly brings it! Wow, who would of known? He needs minutes. We've seen D-mo Grow, T-Robs Audition, Now give us the fing Encore!!!

If not the 4 --> than the 5? (better than Smith?) OR the 3?
looks like he has the skill set to play at any of these spots.

Before the trades, look at all the players he had in front of him. PPat, Morris, and d-Mo were all in front of him. There is a very good chance that he was 4th on the depth chart before the trade, and now he has an injury that is keeping him on the bench. Before he was brought back to the Rockets, I know he sat out a game or two with the Vipers because of an injury.

Once he recovers from his wrist injury, I could see him taking away some minutes from Robinson and G.Smith, but primarily G.Smith.

Given that he's not even playing in a 30 point blowout, it seems clear that Jones is not physically well.

I'm hoping that's the case because any other explanation isn't really acceptable.

They don't make it up but they also don't let facts get in their way either.
