When did I state that working with others is not an option? Its sad how narrow your views really are. You're so reliant on the bipartisan system that you cannot even imagine the idea of working together and solving issues without Republicans and democrats.

While in school, a teacher tried to explain the difference between Republicans and Democrats. He said, "A democrat actually cares about poor people and would pay to help them. A Republican would not." I say that republicans are more interested in helping people help themselves! Liberals want to take rights away from those who work their butts off and go to college and then spend 40 years contributing to society. They want to take money from those who already give back to their country. They want the government to pay everyone to do nothing, and survive by living off of the fruits of those who value hard work. They want illegal immigrants to take the job that I could have, and to drive on the streets that my (and not their) taxes paid for. Oh, it may not seem like it now, but 50 years ago, no one would have guessed that our country would be heading the way it is right now. Where will we be 50 years from now? Nowhere good if the liberals don't wise-up.

Hard to believe a college professor had such a misguided idea.

I read this nearly incomprehensible rambling twice just to make sure I understand your premise.

Two things jump out at me:
    1. You reference so many monopolies. Name 5. You can't. A monopoly is the absence of any competiton. There may be oligopolies, where there are a handful of entrants to the market. Either you do not know what a monopoly is, or your view is very skewed.

    2. You simply hate the government. I suspect that, at some point, there will be a writing by you on the net that includes the word "manifesto" in the title.

Because you're the one who said:

You didn't say Republicans and Democrats, you said "political parties." And I CAN'T imagine the idea of a system working without parties or factions. The Founding Fathers noted it, and history verifies it as even in totalitarian dictatorships, factions exist.

Your such a simple person, my fault would you prefer virtual monopoly. Keep fighting for the government, keep fighting for your enemy.

You are the one throwing around words like "monopoly" without any basis in fact. You are the one who is constantly grumbling "government bad." Yet I am the one that is simple? That's funny.

It is more about getting people dependent on the government to buy their votes than Democrats caring about poor people.

The Sequestor that Obama thought of? The one that Democrats voted for as well as Republicans? They all have a hand in this. They should have known they couldn't compromise. Obama has been just as stubborn as the Republicans. But again, it was Obama who thought of the idea. So ultimately, it falls on him.

    The REPUBLICANS are terrorists!

This country is going to hell in a hand basket if THE LIBERALS don't wise up!

    GOVERMENT bad, mandate overtime!

this thread right here can be the beginning of a new movement where almost every poster here thinks the sentiments above are useless and ignorant.

If it makes you feel any better, Sylvia Garcia just won the SD6 race so that brings one more D to the Texas Senate. Crazy too, cuz last I heard she was being blown out of the water in cash-on-hand.

SD6 has always been/voted heavy Democrat.

From Jan. 17 to Feb. 22 Alvarado raised about $582,000 and spent about $463,000. She had about $99,000 remaining and currently has no outstanding loan balances, according to her most recent finance report. She also lists more than $190,000 in contributions in pre-election telegram reports, which are filed to report funds received after the date of the last report. The contributions include $75,000 from Texas for Lawsuit Reform PAC, which also heavily supports Republican candidates. Former Houston Mayor Bill White, a Democrat, and his wife Andrea gave Alvarado about $30,000.

During the same time, Garcia raised more than $662,000, spent $641,400 and had about $119,000 on hand. Like, Alvarado she does not list any outstanding loan balances. More than $350,000 of Garcia's contributions came from the law firm of Houston trial lawyer and Democratic backer, Steven Mostyn. In four pre-election telegram reports, Garcia lists more than $58,000 in additional contributions, including $25,00 from the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

Well of course, and being that the former seat holder, RIP, was a D, I expected it to go to a D, but it was close and 8 Days before the election she had 228,000; Alvarado had about 100,000 more, thought I had read last week she was being killed in that department, but I was wrong. I think preliminary counts are 45 to 42% in favor of Garcia.

Another Freshman to the Texas Senate. Almost 60 days into the session, She will have 6 days, including today, to file a bill. I assume the deadline isn't changed since she just got in? I wonder if she will file anything.

Sorry, I should have credited the Texas Ethics Commission for those numbers. And now I just realized I pulled up the numbers for the Special Election and not the Run-off, so my numbers are moot as they were from Jan. 22.

Well, I was asking a question, and I wasn't talking about roughly half of the voting population of the USA, like you were.
