Doesn't space the floor. Not a plus defender. Tends to lose focus. Not as active as he used to be. Significant production drop-off from earlier in the season.

I'm not saying Ohlbrecht is the answer. He very well might turn out to be (even) worse than Smith or Robinson. Still, I think it may be time to see what he can do.

Will be interesting if for some reason Ohlbrecht ends up leap frogging Terrence Jones as well. I thought he was a lock to be a rotation player this year, but obviously there is something he's lacking to produce on an NBA level(either that or they are harboring him for the future).

Wouldn't shock me though if Ohlbrecht takes Smith's minutes at the C position. Smith just doesn't get defensive rotations. Its the toughest part for a young NBA big man, but you would think that he would have show SOME kind of improvement at this point in the year... still, Ohlbrecht might take Smith's minutes just on smarts alone.

Man, but imagine if Asik had Smith's touch around the basket.

That's certainly an understatement. Greg Smith's only defense is to foul people, and he does it at an astronomical rate. The Rockets for the whole year has been below atrocious on D when Asik isn't on the floor.

Greg Smith had enough offense to offset his defense when he got 4 dunks every night. Then teams realized to stay on him, and he stopped being otherworldy productive on offense. So he stopped being good overall.

I think the only fans who felt the Rockets wouldn't lose defense with the trades are those who equates rebounding with defense. Otherwise, we all understand we're taking a huge step back defensively with the trade. Doesn't mean anything in the long term though. DMo has so much more upside than Patterson.

TRob needs development time first. Then we might trade him

I wouldn't get too excited if I was a Magic fan. It was against DMo, TRob and Delfino.

In other news: Marcus Morris just had 16 points (4/5 threes), 5 boards & 2 steals in a win over the Hawks. Could've used that ;)

Why aren't you complaining about the lack of defense by Andrew Nicholson and Tobias Harris? They scored a lot but they were also scorched on the other end of the court by

    DMo 17 pts 58% shooting

Carlos Delphino 21 pts 50% shooting.

    Combined 39 pts 54% shooting

The trade dead line is past already, most likely McHale is kicking the tires on Robinson's skills and ability, if he doesn't show some improvement by the end of next week, I think we can all fully expect to see him be sent for some D-League seasoning unless there is something seriously wrong with Terrance Jones that the coaches don't trust him... or Morey is being an arse.

Because I can only wish that our guys could have held the opposing PFs to 54% shooting as opposed to 80% FG%.

Because Harris and Nicholson were facing a talented offensive team and not a bottom feeder team. Because Harris and Nicholson's team are not worried about winning.

Because you wish our team would have won.... Oh wait...

Jeez Carl stop freaking whinning. Your free to watch all of the Magic games you want, or all of the Kings games to and then you can keep up with the greatest PF of all time Patrick Patterson because he always rebounded and played such great defense. oh wait, come to think of it he didn't.

I agree with the people who are saying the trade was more about DMo and saving salary than TRob. DMo has a serious upside, while PPat was as good as he was ever were going to be. Yes DMo is lacking on defense and will probably never be a lock down defender but he will improve on defense and he has "superstar" offensive potential. I believe the team wants to see what DMo can do so they will know if they need to try to acquire a superstar PF. This team was not going to contend this year whether we kept PPat or not. These moves are about the future when we do have a chance to contend.
