The garden would go so nuts for him. I could totally see the knicks make an offer after his rockets contract is up.

Ridiculous thread, he was a game time decision with an ankle injury. Probably playing limited minutes because he wasn't 100%. Just like he wasn't 100% @ the beginning of the season. Takes time...

I have been agnostic on the whole Lin controversy, but I will say that Lin is very close to the perfect guard to pair with Harden. If Lin can become a little more consistent and improve his spot up 3 point shot to 38%-39% in the off season, the Rockets would be set at the guards for the next half dozen years.

You could probably move him for Shumpert and a pick right now :)

But I'm not giving up on Lin after just one season. I don't bet against people with that kind of heart, work ethic, and character. He'll come back next season much improved.

What? Do you believe that McHale has any say whatsoever in trading players?

You can get rep in other forums. The GARM isn't the only one here.

True. Then it would be Morey that gets fired right away.

I'm projecting that lins minutes will go down to around there due to mchales comfort with the ball in beverlys hands.

I think ab is probably the best complement. Reddicks handles are way too shaky for mchale.

I'm actually pretty high on lins talent and hard work but I just don't think he fits with what mchale wants from a pg. I also don't think mchale will ever trust him because I just don't think that he will ever shed the homerun mentality. The great pgs all have the homerun mentality imo but I dont think mchale feels like he need a great pg when he's got harden. I think hed be more comfrtable with a caretaker pg now that he has harden.

Its for those reasons that I think we should just cut our losses and trade lin.

sure, because as we all know, when McHale and Morrey's opinions differ McHale usually wins ;)

That and of course, not try to play someone 40 min every game who blew out his knees last season is very strange

you are projecting a bunch of fluff man. It's not about comfort but performance.

Beverly was playing well - he was the better point guard last night. He earned the extra minutes. Just let it go.

Yeah lin isn't the most clutch point guard in crunch time but the reason he wasn't played today was because beverley got hot late in the game. Beverley stunk more in the first half but late in the game he got hot so mchale kept him in til the end. It's not rocket science..it's logical stuff. Yea lin disappeared in 2nd half but he was hot in the 1st half. It's a game of 2 halves.

Great point guards do not have to have the home run mentality. The home run mentality implies lots of strikeouts which great pg's don't. How often does Paul and Parker make totally stupid decisions during a game? How often do you say to yourself "What the hell was Tony Parker thinking on that play?"

However, I do agree we don't need a great PG to play with Harden. We just need one that is steady that can hit the open shot at over great clip.

I recall in a post game interview when D'antoni was asked why he didn't take Howard the Loyal out when opponents seemed to try to put Ho to FT, D'antoni said that's not the way you treat your starter.

    any way, we won

tony parker used to make a ton of bad stupid decisions for a pg, jumping into the air nowhere to go at 23/24 6th season in the league.
Not surprisingly many of the peeps already against lin are just piling on with ridiculous arguments. =/

And two months ago, people were projecting that Lin would fall behind Douglas because Douglas clearly fit better with Harden blah blah blah. Same with you now.

In March Lin is shooting 50% from the field and 100% from the arc what more could you ask for?

Really though in Feb Lin shot 43% FG% and 42% 3P%

Lin will be fine and I'm happy to say he is the PG of our future.
