Are we just gonna ignore the magical game that Harris and Nicholson just had tonight?

Right now has nothing to do with it. Battier was better than Budinger at the time of the trade a few years ago, but Morey had to pull the comfort blanket away from Adelman.

Same with the Alston trade, etc...

Look.... D-Mo put 17 pts up tonight on an off night where he looked a bit out of sorts. Its obvious to me that this guy has serious upside... the defense is something McHale is going to be FORCED to insist on D-Mo improving on instead of benching him in favor of ol reliable.

The coach will always have comfort blankets that someone else will have to pull away from them. Its part of growing up...... as a basketball team.

Except it only takes PPat 26 minutes to get 5 rebounds.

Even if we do miss the playoffs because of the trade, It's not like having Patterson would help that much.

Carl this seems out of character. It's entertaining.

5 rebounds for Patterson is a really good night for him.

I remember those nights where him and Morris would not even combine for that...

I didn't know we were contending this season. Big men take a while to develop.

Larry Sanders (drafted at 22 years old) 6-11, 235 (222 at the time, 6-10.5" w/ shoes)
    4.3 ppg on 43.3 FG%
    56% FT
    3.0 RPG

    1.2 BPG
    0.3 APG
    0.4 SPG
    14.5 MPG
    1.9 fouls

Thomas Robinson (drafted after recently turning 21 years old) 6-10, 237
    4.8 ppg on 42.6 FG%
    56% FT
    4.6 RPG

    0.4 BPG
    0.7 APG
    0.5 SPG
    15.7 MPG
    1.9 fouls

While Sanders was the better defender and shot blocker, Robinson is the better rebounder, passer, and shooter.

They also had a gazillion defensive breakdowns.

I hate to agree with CH on this one, as I disagree with him on the larger point, but I do agree that a PF rotation of D-Mo and Robinson simply isn't going to cut it. Robinson just isn't ready and D-Mo can't guard a chair.

Time to unleash the Ohlbrecht? Never been a huge fan from watching him in Germany, but might as well give him a shot.

We need a ****ing miracle to win our games against the Mavs. Dirk and Mayo will abuse Dmo and Harden X_X

    More likely Harden abuses Mayo.

The solution is 48 minutes of Carlos Delfino at PF! He is, seriously, our only dependable PF on defense.

Had to rep this. Just cold hard facts.

It's not saying that Robinson can be as good as Sanders is now, it's just simply there to remind folks to wait a bit before calling him a bust.

Any ways Carl, Morris was a bust according to you as well so you should be happy that we didn't keep him either :p

Nicholson's actually a pretty damn good player on offense.

He's got sort of an old man offensive post game. Also Harris was a steal for Orlando... I think he's a legit NBA player...

However, its besides the point. This thread isn't really about those two players... its about sulking over the Patterson/ Robinson trade.

Hi! I'm some random guy on the internet and I'm smarter than Daryl Morey!

You can not be this dense. You have to understand why Morey did what he did. I think you are just being argumentative for the sake of having a discussion and maybe for the attention. Ppat is the player he is going to be with room for marginal improvement. And you have four rookie 1st round pick power forwards that you need to see where they are at this season and next. You had to sell high on Ppat and morris and it saves you money next season.

All that you want to give up??? If you get improvement from those 4 power forwards you can either keep one or end up getting more value to trade for love or lamrcus Aldrich this off season or more likely at the trade deadline next season.

    Sheesh

Your right that Ppat would have played D better and that Trob hasn't looked good at all but Dmo is going to be special. Dmo just needs to continue improving on D by knowing where to move and when to switch and he will be better than Ppat by far, his offense is great.

Bucks fans were absolutely pissed at giving him up. Even for Reddick.

I would like to see T-Rob play with the first unit instead of that jumbled mess that is the 2nd unit, comprised of players who don't have any chemistry yet.

Maybe pull Motiejunas out a little early in the 3rd, and let T-Rob have some burn with Asik, while playing pick and roll with Lin/Harden. Maybe some pick and pop to see if he can hit the jumper in our system.

Otherwise I agree in sending him to the D-League for now, as he's not going to get any better playing with clueless Smith on the backlines. He'll learn the system and gain some confidence as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see Olbrecht get a chance soon.
