That's a flat out ignorant statement. Kobe spent a large portion of this season trying to play the distributor and get his teammates involved.

Imagine if we could all work like Tmac and get an early vacation while others like Kobe have to work through may, june and july

    well said.

that's how i love kobe bryant.

    those incredible shots amazed me.

i don't care about basketball reasons.

i care about entertaining myself from kobe's games.

is anybody paying to see ray allen taking wide open 3-pointers, rayallen is great, no doubt. but is there really anybody paying to see ray shooting open 3?

how about miami heat home court...no matter how great LBJ is, lol, look at the court...just a few audience... where are the heat fans, where are the LBJ fans...LMFAO..

people in LA and from all over the world are paying to see kobe, to see Lakers game...no matter if lakers play bobcats...simple as that

    take it, and keep hating...

    haters are gonna hate.

    losers will hate of course...

kobe's got 5 rings, he's no loser even if the lakers can't make the playoffs.

LBJ? only 1, get 5, and start comparing with kobe by then.

If by a large portion you mean 5 games, I agree.

this, although washington still hid Jordan on the worst perimeter player on the court but that was to save his 40 year old legs most likely, I'm sure he could've defended T-mac and Vince very well.

You think Durant is stronger than Kobe? The same Durant who couldn't bench press 185 pounds when he came into the league?

Most definitely is considering he's played nonstop + playoff series + Olympics.

Not enough credit goes to him for taking care of his body.

    so 27.2ppg on 47.2% compered to 28.7ppg on 46.5%

i would say that is pretty even, but as you said MJ was still one of the best perimeter defenders. Don't know how it makes it arguable.

I also hate the argument that LBJ and Durant are bigger and get more layups for better % MJ was the same exact size as Kobe and shot just about 50% for his career. There's being a smart and efficient player and there's hero chucker ball. When MJ was known as a hero ball kind of player, he would score 37ppg ...35ppg etc on near or over 50% for the season.

Kobe was awesome, one of the most exciting players ever when he would catch fire. But, to me the dude comes from an era of inefficient chuckers. He had better circumstances than T-mac, AI, Vince, etc. He takes amazing care of his body so he outlasted them. But, i just can't put him in the top 10 even bc he's one of the only players career i can clearly look at and replace with any of the prime wing players of his day and they too would have 3 rings b4 they even hit their prime. There are also many players who had individually better years than kobe ever had throughout his career.

Kobe had i'd say 3 clear years where he was arguably the best player in the NBA.

    02-03, he avg'd 30, 7 and 6. That same year T-Mac had 32, 6.5, 5.5. Garnett avg'd 23, 13.4 and 6. Duncan was the champ. Arguable Kobe was the best that year.

05-06, he avg'd 35.4, 5, 4.5. So happens the same year AI avg'd 33 and 7.4 assists. LBJ 31.4, 7 and 6.6. DWade is the champ with an amazing and better performance in the Finals than Kobe ever had.

06-07. Same thing. Yet Duncan wins once again.

So 3 years of rings thanks to having the most dominant big man ever. 2 rings on his own as the leader with the help of the biggest dominant frontcourt in the NBA at the time with LBJ being the clear best player in the game those 2 years.

LBJ said it best when the Jordan thing came up about 5 rings beats 1. It's all about circumstances. Had LBJ demanded to be drafted by one of the most winning franchises in sports and to play alongside primed Shaq. LBJ easily has those 3 rings and probably more since he wouldn't have run Shaq out. But, he was drafted by podunk Cleveland and wasted away carrying those **** teams run by incompetent staff. Would Kobe have any rings playing in Charlotte? Doesn't matter i guess...What happened..happened. "Kobe playing for anyone other than the Lakers is an impossibility." -17 year old Kobe's agent.

He has the best center in the league and an All Time Great at PG.

    He better be more efficient.

Although, considering how inefficient he has been the last few years, an improvement really isn't impressive.

Most overrated player in NBA history. Watch him get All-D again this year, tells you everything you need to know about image and marketing.

Who cares. His team isn't going anywhere. He is no longer the best shooting guard and his defense is historically bad.

Are Kobe fans that insecure that they have to revert back to the ring argument against Lebron? Firstly, this thread had nothing to do with Lebron.

Additionally, LA is a basketball dominated market without any other prominent sport team to support other than the clippers, where Miami is largely a football dominated market. If you think people are paying to watch Kobe chuck up 22 foot contested jumpers, you are sadly mistaken.

Kobe's one of the best players of all time. He has many accolades and should have more than one MVP IMO. With that said is lebron a better player? As of right now of course but with that said I think when it's all said and done lebron will be the best player in league history over even MJ.

I'm really ashamed that alot of you guys call yourselfs basketball fans as if Kobe wasn't ripping the league up 7-8 yrs ago in his prime. What Kobe's able to do right now is phenomenal it's his 17th yr in the league. It's down right stupid to compare a 17th season player to a guy in his 10th yr and in his absolute prime.

Kobe did some amazing things 40+ in 10 straight games, 81 in a single game if I'm not mistaken 50+ 4 straight games. These things just done happen just like the historical performances were witnessing from lebron.

Kobe is without a doubt a top 10 player of all time and you won't see any great basketball mind debate that now were he is on that list is debatable. Go back and watch some prime Kobe games and see how special he was/is. Don't let old Kobe deter your memory. Stop the hate and be appreciative that you got to see one of the greatest to ever play. Now watch lebron and see another top 10 off all time playe were watching legends.

The whole German surgical procedure thing can be tossed out. I don't see how that indicates anything.
