If the season ended today, we would match up against the Spurs in the 1st round. We've played them three times this season, losing them all.

    12/7: Rockets- 92, Spurs 114

    12/10: Spurs- 134, Rockets 126

    12/28: Rockets- 116, Spurs 122

If we surpass the Jazz and take the 7th seed, we would face up against the Thunder, a team that blew us out twice before we stole a win from them a couple weeks ago.

    11/28: Rockets- 98, Thunder 120

    12/29: Thunder- 124, Rockets- 94

    2/20: Thunder- 119, Rockets- 122

Both teams would likely crush us, but which team do you think we have a better chance against?

I'll take my chances with Westbrook going brain dead. The Spurs are way too polished to lose a 7 game series against an inferior team.

Agree here. I don't think we'd win either in a series, but SAS just plays good, smart basketball. Also, it'd be nice to have a grudge match against Harden's old team.

We will be playing the Clippers, so it doesn't matter which one of these two you want.

This. We have a long shot chance against the Thunder in winning a series and no way does McHale out coach Popp in one. We'd have a shot against the Clippers or any of the other playoff teams but those two teams have our playoff journey being one and done.

We will grab the 6th seed so I am not worrying about those two teams unless they tank hard to the the 3rd seed.

Pointless. It would be a short series against either of those two teams.

I know spurs they are just a machine and they best us 3 times.

but thinking of match up against the thunder scares hell of me, even though we beat them once. they are the least team i want to see in playoffs.

I'm scared of Denver and the Clippers more than any other team. Denver moreso.

They are basically a better version of the Rockets. So the one thing we do to other teams (run them out the building) doesn't work.

In fact since we shoot so many threes and as a result will brick a lot of shots all we are doing is fueling their fast break.

    4 game sweep right there.

Let's make sure we win the next game.

The way we played against Kings, Wizards, Bucks and the Magic ... we'd have trouble beating the 8th seed in the East.

Tough choice but I'd have to go with the Spurs. One of these seasons their window is going to close and I would love for the Rockets to be the ones who slam is shut. Sorry, must be my residual anger from living in SA for a few years. Heard way to much trash talk to support that team in any way.

The spurs and OKC are our absolute worst nightmare. We had to have some miracle work just to beat OKC that one game, and the spurs...nothing needs to be said. Any realistic scenario of us winning a series involves Denver and Memphis. Probably not the clipps but I can see us sneaking one or two games in.

They've never proven that they can close out close games..When the Thunder panic..they sure fumble up..

I don't like a match up with either one of those teams. Rox would be hard-pressed to win one game (Harden had to go all-world to edge out his former team for their only win against the Thunder this year.) Spurs execute too well for Rox to keep up. I've been saying for a while if Rox want competitive first round they have to move up to 6th seed and get the Grizzlies or Clippers. Whoever the Rox play, their defense is a major problem that probably will keep them from winning a series against anyone in the top 5.

While I don't think we can beat any of the Top 3 teams, I think we could wear out the Spurs enough to hinder their chances of winning the next series.

    And **** the Spurs.
