Why all caps and no periods brah? I already mentioned he was 50% overall. My point is Lin played well enough tonight but not enough to affect the team to maintain any momentum in the 2nd half. No its not just him, but he's the main playmaker and it's his duty to facilitate. When the 1st option doesn't work, you move to the next. And McHale made the right decision tonight to play out Beverly. I'm a Lin fan too but give credit when its due.
Rockets had 4 point lead when Lin left the game. There's no telling what would have happened had Lin stayed in the game. Could have lost, could have won, it's all just speculation colored by bias towards one or the other. Also, Harden played 42 minutes on a bum knee and ankle. Could have given the dude some rest and gone with Lin + Beverley lineup at some point in the game.
No way. Ho Chen must have just added Lin in to appease everyone. The point guard position was probably the only position where we had solid D tonight. Aside from Asik and our point guards everyone else was terrible.
Oh, and Lin's clutch stats this year: Clutch Statistics (4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points) Per/48 Min 27.4 pts .571fg% .643efg 42%3pt http://www.82games.com/1213/12HOU2.HTM
YA THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED B4 2NITE BENCH LIN IN THE 4TH Q UNHEARD OF!!!!!LMAO SEEMS LIKE AN ONGOING PATTERN TO ME
Why aren't you upset that D-mo did not play the entire 4th? Where are all the DOFs at to complain about this?
oh fantastic. could you show them the way? just point them in the right direction? give them their boarding pass to jeremylin.net and tell them to have a nice flight? That would be great.:grin:
You don't bench stars for an entire 4th, starters on the other hand can be benched if the backup is proving to be effective. And don't confuse my statement as Lin bashing, I thought he played very well tonight, but come on it's not like mchale sat Chris Paul the entire 4th.
McFail really doesn't care about player development, he's just scrambling to get as many wins as possible by throwing everything out there and playing his max player to death. The way you win as a team is through chemistry and pounding your core in the final streaches. You look at the very good teams and you see that their core remains through the last second in very close games no matter what...this is not about winning one game but winning many games in the long run.
Yep!! I was posting that the whole night.... the problem was not the PG's they played good D, the problem lies with the PF's
Why do some of you guys continue to diss anyone who questioned McHale's benching of Lin tonight? You bench your starters in the 4th quarter for two reasons: 1. They are hurt 2. They don't follow coach's orders So which is it?
I remember Parsons being benched once or twice during the 4th for playing like crap. And before I get jumped on, no Lin wasn't playing like crap. He was fine but Beverley was playing well. Only person who will never get benched no matter how bad he's playing is Harden. Everyone else is fair game.
but he didnt rest for 4 minutes he rested for 10 minutes because McHlae kept him on the bench well into the second quarter. Lin sat on the bench for a full six minutes into the 2nd quarter so by the time he got back into the game he was ICE COLD after sitting on the bench for over 10 minutes.
we saw many times that coach put back his starter to the game even they were bad in first 3 qts. they are starter for a reason. you have to believe them otherwise, don't start them.
