Any one that gets into the paint consistently is likely a star player. Any ways, I hate superstar calls in the first place, but my point is for Harden sometimes to get to the line only 4-5 times is unbelievable to me.

I just see a game or so where the Refs have just decided before the game that they aren't going to call it. I don't know what a guy is supposed to do then, relying on jumpers is inefficient if you are the first option.

Most players that only do so are the inefficient chuckers we'd hate to have on this team like Ellis or Mayo.

I mean yeah he's reliant on fouls but It's that way for a lot of players. If the refs decide to not call it for a game then yeah he's going to have a bad game because the defense now has a major advantage.

I love Harden, but I don't believe he will bring a Championship to this town.
His game is more one dimensional, heavily depending on FTs and refs.
He is very efficient for fast breaks. A very streak 3 point shooter. At this point of his career, too much TOs. That's why DM needs to bring in another super star.

If we don't win this game, we might as well miss the playoffs.

    Well of course I do.

If I don't first state that I am a fan of Lin then I get accused of being a LOH just like what you just did, even though I what I said had nothing to do with being a fan or not a fan of Lin.

As I say, if you just decide to take away FTs from any superstar player then you will make them one dimensional. Most 3 point shooters are streaky, unless they are Reggie Miller or Ray Allen. Shooters will get hot and cold, that's why superstar players usually can score in the paint...but you can't score in the paint if defenses are allowed to hack away at you for the night. You just can't.

Dwyane Wade has a career free throw average of 8.7.

He has had 2 season where he averaged more than 10 free throws (10.5 and 10.7), and 2 other season where he basically averaged 10 free throws a game (9.8 and 9.9). So Wade has had 4 seasons where he averaged 10 free throws.

In fact, in Wade's 10 year career, he failed to average more than 9 free throws a game in only 4 seasons. If we round up, then it's only 3 seasons. Those 3 seasons are his rookie season, and the current and previous season where Lebron James is the primary ball handler.

Sorry but it's not a good article. It questions if Lin "Has enough left in the tank" because he's "struggled" the last 2 games. One game he was sick and the next the Rockets played point guard by commitee. I didn't see him struggling against the Bucks - played 33 minutes, held Jennings to 8 points, had 7 assists. Didn't shoot great 4-10 but needed to have the ball more. Stood in the corner too much (McHales orders) while others turned the ball over.

Harden is elite in my book but i'm just not a fan of looking for a foul first than the shot.

You must admit him trying to draw contact by swinging his arms into the defender is almost an offensive foul and if every player did that the game would not be fun at all.

Harden is the only star in this team, I dont think Rockets fan include LOHs and LOFs hate Harden. I critisized him for his play sometimes, but that does not mean I hate him, hell no, I love Rockets players.

Yes, he will never be a championship level PG, just like he would never play D1, just like he would never make it to the NBA, just like he would never stick in the NBA.....just like he would never show the flashes of brilliance he has so far in the league. People will never learn with this guy. He's been proving so many wrong his whole life, there's absolutely no reason for me to believe that will stop. He DEFINITELY has the physical tools, so why not? The mental stuff, the jump shot, that stuff can be improved. He's still really young. He'll get there.

Well said. The only things that can stop him are injury and a coach who stands him in the corner.

That is why having a low post/inside game is such an important aspect to consistent winning. You never know what rules the ref will enforce for a given game or even quarter. You need someone who can score in the low post when ref decide to put on their blinds. That is also why I think while Harden is good, he is not the answer everyone seems to think he is.

He has a inside game though, it's driving into the lane and getting a layup.

No he's not the sole answer, it's not likely that one superstar player is going to take all the way to the championship.

I mean we are now asking for Harden to have a low post game for a SG? He does enough for this team, is a top 10 player right now in the NBA if not a top 5 for some people. At 23 years old. Remember that.

I think what you mean is that is why it's important for the team to have a low post game or a second option so that when the refs are being stupid and deciding to give the defense a major advantage that we could have someone else (like say Aldridge or Love...) to make up for it.
