I have a two month old, ASUS laptop with Windows 8. For whatever reason, the touchpad keeps turning off and the mouse is stuck frozen. When the laptop first wakes from sleep mode, the mouse is mobile again, but after a few seconds it freezes up.

Anyone know how to fix this? Only using the keyboard is a real b****.

It's a touchpad, not a mouse, I should clarify. I don't think it has batteries, I think I have some weird setting off, or there's a software problem. There's no noticeable hardware problems.

Have you tried to reinstall the driver for it?

Visit the ASUS support website and download and update the drivers. If that doesn't work, open a support ticket with ASUS support and/or exchange it at the store you bought it.

The average american replaces laptop once a month. Throw your laptop away, buy a new one.

Better yet instead of throwing it away, mail it to me.

Try fn+F5 or fn+F8 or fn+F9 or else check to see if there is a key/button on your laptop that have some unlock symbol and enable/disable that.
