Sick line up, have never been to Free Press. How does it compare to other festivals? Specifically ACL?
Took the last two years off, but this is going to lure me back in. I heard last year was a nightmare with the entry gates. I hope they've fixed that.
Hs fast does this sell out? Want to take advantage of the pre sale discount but kind kf want to wait a little before I purchase
The weather is way worse, prepare accordingly. A few of my friends didn't come back to the festival on the second day because it was so terrible on the first. Second day was bearable though.
Now I know why the blind pre-sale went from $20 last year to $50 this year. It brought a lot of tourists to Houston last year from all over Texas and even Louisiana. It's the kind of stuff I've been dreaming about for the city. Who says we can't have better music festivals than Austin in 10 years?
They started it off in August and the weather is unbearable. So they moved it to the first weekend in June, which resulted in 102 degree temperatures that day.
Thinking about going, but I don't really know if there's anyone I want to see outside of the Geto Boys, Devin the Dude, and the Stooges.
Fancy Pants lines were no better than regular lines last year. You do get to go in that A/C tent though but those were packed too.
I had the fancy pants deal last year. The best perk was getting inside the tents for air conditioning because believe me it was hot as hell last year. Still lines inside some of the tents for beer / food but more manageable. A/C was worth the extra money.
I'm about to buy tickets, anyone know if the fancy pants is worth it? I hate the heat, and the availability of A/C tents is nice, as is express entry. Any idea how good the private viewing areas are?
GREAT lineup. Japandroids, Iggy and the Stooges. Would love to see the freaking Geto Boys. Unfortunately it's on the damn due date of my baby.
I doubt it. Most festivals don't release those until much closer to the event. Coachella for example releases set times the week of the festival.
Generally speaking, the more popular the band, the later they'll play... this is of course on the case if they don't have dates/travel plans before or after the show that would alter their scheduled time.
