I'm pretty sure most players stand on their tip-toes, when being measured at the NBA combine. An extra inch in height or reach, could mean an extra $ million in contract money.

These guys should all be small forwards considering their size. Just because they can't shoot doesn't mean they play power forward. They can not compete with the real power forwards like Love, Aldridge etc. I am sick and tired of our project with these 6'8 guys playing power forward. Put an end to this nonsense.

Uhm...isn't Kevin Love 6'8 barefoot as well?

Edit: yes I thought so. Actually Kevin Love is the exact same height as Robinson. 6'7.75 without shoes yet he seems to handle the spot just fine. Next complaint? Lol

Great point, I forgot him in my list:

    http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/kevin-love-1062/

    6' 07.75" barefoot.

His measurable are actually extremely close to T-Rob in all categories.

Love's a great PF. Go TRob!

Funny you should mention Kevin Love.

    Thomas Robinson
    Height w/o Shoes: 6'7.75"
    Standing Reach: 8'10"

    Kevin Love
    Height w/o Shoes: 6'7.75"
    Standing Reach: 8'10"

    ;)

Really ? Wow, he looks much taller than 6'8. Thomas Robinson looks smaller than Marcus Morris so he is really more like 6'8 with shoes. Love is 6'10 with shoes.

Markieff is 6'7.75" w/o shoes, same as T-Rob; Marcus is 6'7" w/o shoes.

Kevin Love was measured at age 19.

Thomas Robinson was measured at age 21.

It's possible that Kevin Love has grown a 1/2 inch since age 19. He looks taller than David Lee.

Kevin Love (at age 19), David Lee (at age 21) and Thomas Robinson (at age 21) all measured 6'7.75" at the NBA combine. It's just that Love and Lee are more skilled.

Think a David Lee who can't shoot or pass and that's what we have in Thomas Robinson.

Actually we probably just bought a second round pick for 2mill insted of 3? (if we want to)

I can't see us pursuing a first round pick this summer, no sense in forfeiting the extra cap space.
So it's about a 2nd rounder, I can see Morey offering $2mill and saying "it's all we've got" and a team that was planning on selling a 2nd round pick might well sell it anyway.

But since we covered that base by picking up the PHX 2nd rounder (currently #35), it's quite conceivable we just paid (effectively) $1mill for our 2nd round pick? Perhaps we save the $2mill, or use it as a sweetner to dump salary? (White?)

So you never saw Thomas Robinson play then?

    Ok, cool.

[he can definitely shoot it out to 18' - if anything that's a strength of his game and a major area of growth that made him more potent from his sophmore to junior years in college]

I could not agree more. The hate on Robinson because he is not an inch taller is pure ignorance. We should all be ROF (Rockets only Fans) and anyone that claims to be anything that ends with an "H" (hater) should be prohibited from this forum.

I will never understand hate for the sake of hate. It only brings down the IQ levels and quality of discourse.

Without PPat's rebounding and defense, the Rockets lost to Washington and Milwaukee.

this...this is the reason he was dealt...couldnt do what a 4 was supposed to do...and what Mchale does is even worse...keeps someone that isnt even considered a 4 in the game on a defensive possession that required a rebound...

    Rebound...thats not what Ppat did...
