seriously, Mchale is fine for the most part...but once again...its really just all about situational coaching...he is just terrible at it...when the Bucks took the time out to run their final play, im sure they were just as surprised that Delfino remained in the game to defend...Delfino is an avg defender, but you just cant teach height...you have to put in rebouding bigs...DMo, TRob...this is when your PF needs to come up with the rebound, secure the ball and call a timeout...and you cant have a SG guarding the 4...its on the center and 4 to secure loose balls...Parsons couldnt come up with it...and they had the last shot, and a unbelievable shot was made...Kudos to their guy

Its also a trust issue. Mchale went with what he trusted which was Delfino's smarts...but it cost us a loose ball...We shouldve had the last shot with about 10 seconds left on the clock...that just means we wasted 10 seconds trying to secure a loose ball...Powerforwards dont get worked like that...but an undersized forward will...McHale has to learn from this...bc this is the 4th time not securing a loose ball has cost us a game...couldve been 5 if Durant's shot was in line...

McHale is just too inexperienced as a coach to coach inexperienced players

I agree with most of your post other than McHale being fine for the most part. The situational rotations/substitutions are what separates good coaches from bad and that's starting to really show with McHale. I said the same thing about him going with Delfino because he trusted him more but being too small again cost us another game. The only good thing that could come from us missing playoffs again is that McHale may get fired because that would be two consecutive years of epic collapses which show bad leadership/coaching overall. When Rox do get back in contention, I don't think it will be McHale coaching this team at that point.

You failed to note at what point in the games. It was fairly early on, blowing a big lead in the 4th? Thats a whole new story.

Calvin Murphy: "It's not about (Jeremy) being too passive. It's about whoever is calling the shots for the team, and that would be Kevin McHale, making it known that Jeremy has got to have the ball in his hands.
He (Harden) is a two-guard. What does a two-guard do? He finishes the play. I played both positions when I was in the pros. I was a point guard when I first came in (and) I moved over to the two-guard, so he's the finisher. What he's got to do is be able to finish without having the ball in his hands for eight seconds."

Last time Murphy spoke at the right time and the coaches seemed to adjust accordingly and we stopped a long losing stretch. Are we regressing back slowly ?

the only thing delfino is good for is shooting threes.

you put Delfino in when you need outside offense. but when you need defensive rebounding thats when you need to go with the bigs. that's just common sense.

when you are desperate for a defensive rebound in the last seconds of the game the last thing you want to do is play small ball unless you want to lose!

Well... having Parsons cover Ellis for half the night when Ellis is weaving through multiple screens is just idiotic.

I like McHale. He motivates guys well and has a good influence on the team overall. But he's just a terrible in-game coach.

Hate not having CSN and missing Murphy's commentary... Anyway not to beat a dead horse but McHale was a bad hire. He makes a lot of dumb, unintelligent moves out there and it's becoming obvious to a lot of people at this point.

Why would the Rockets ever have a coaching search when they can just go on the internet and find at least 100 guys on this website who know more basketball than McHale and morey combined?

why do you assume that people that watch basketball cant see the obvious...such as poor in game management...being fans is one thing...but being long time observers of the game gives people the right to call out foolish and dumb things...mchale's offense obviously is exciting...but it is his lack of knowing what the situation calls for in the crunch time that really bothers me...

we havent had to worry about it bc James Harden is just phenomenal down the stretch of games...but Since Harden doesnt really play defense...its on his coach to put at least 4 guys around him that can...

I really want the Rox to make the playoffs because it will be great experience for this young team moving forwards.

But I really think McFail is going to cost us a shot down the road, if he hasn't already.
