Why did I have to reply everyone of your questions that are not initiated by me or have nothing to do with my original posts or with this thread? I have made plenty of comments regarding Lin's game in numerous threads and I did't have the intention to repeat them in this thread.

Well just for the sake of reply to your post: Jeremy's defense is solid and his help defense is risky but yields lots of rewards as evidenced by that blow-out Jazz game. Morey seems having no problem with Lin's "disruptive" freelance style of defense. But does McHale have problem with Lin being undisciplined on his defense? I don't know.

"..Jeremy handle criticism like a grown-up, and his fans strangely don't follow his lead."

Why does Lin's behavior have anything to do with his fans or vise versa? Do you know the meaning of 'fan'? Should there be only one way/model of being a fan? Not that I agree with some extreme passionate Lin fans behavior/words, but I have no problem with the way they express themselves. This is a free country and this is a free internet. If you don't want other people limit the ways that you live your own life and make your own choice, shouldn't you respect other people's choices of their own?

Westbrook's TS is 52% as well, and the guy made the all-star team while chucking up 20 shots a game.

How is this not stipulation? Seriously! Nobody without inside knowledge really knows what's going on between the coach and the players; even people with inside knowledge may not know for sure.

So, let's just quit all these stipulations and conspiracy theories (on either side), and simply talk about whether McHale's comments, in and of themselves, are appropriate. If it's inappropriate for a coach to call out his player like that, then why can't people criticize McHale for what he said? Why has that anything to do with Lin fans being too sensitive?

I was agreeing with someone who was responding to a poster who was commenting on McHale not treating Lin fairly compared to other players. If you are going to respond to me, why don't you go back and read what I was responding to first.

I don't think McHale doesn't like Lin, he just doesn't think very highly of him.
Lin get yelled at for the same mistake that his teammates make, and get subbed out early even when he plays well.

Will Lin be able to work through adversity and prove to McHale that he is a valuable contributor to the team? Stay tuned till the next episode...

And what's the one thing you constantly hear about Westbrook?
How absolutely horrid his shot selection (and decision making) is.

I was wondering why Lin was playing so much more timidly after the OKC game.... this explains it, pretty sad

So McHale just told Lin not to score 29 pts and 9 TO.

Harden just scored 25 pts and 7 TO in today's loss to the Bucks.

Keeping in mind that Harden is the shooting guard and not the point guard, shouldn't McHale be saying the same thing to Harden?

McHale is such a bad influence on Lin, I know he doesn't personally hate Lin or anything, but his comments pretty much impacts Lin greatly and perhaps Lin's attitude and mindset in games (such as how passive he becomes). It makes me believe that Lin has all-star potential abilities, but is unable to play consistently due to his mental state of mind.

“Sometimes he’d rather have 29 points and nine turnovers and I tell him, ‘Jeremy, we’re trying to win,’ ” - McHale

    Harden - 25 pts, 7 to.

The fact that Lin is the point guard and not the shooting guard is kind of the key point here. Reread McHale's quotes on Lin that were published at Chron.com a couple weeks back (quoted in this thread) to understand where he's coming from. Focusing on this one NY Daily quote is pointless.

Being on one of the top team in all of basketball sure does help and so does having 8 assists. Now if Lin were to shoot as many shots as westbrook would he have similar numbers? Yeah of course.

Horrible argument,. Who said Lin "deserves a high level of respect?" NO ONE is saying that; what some Lin fans are saying is that Lin should be getting the same treatment as his teammates. No worse, no better, and that's certainly not what's going on.

And you're going to compare Beverley and Lin?!? Really??? You think Beverley, for all of his pluses, is as good as Lin?!? If people argue that Harden doesn't get yelled at because he's a "superstar", then shouldn't Lin be given more respect for being a starter and frankly, a good amount better than Beverley right now?

The reason they don't "see the floor" is because they're rookies, and frankly, not that good. Case in point, today.
