Absolutely not. I have no problem with blacks or any other minorities.

I do despise thuggish culture than denigrates hard work, education, morals and two-parent families. But as I already said, that thuggish culture spans across many races.

I find it amusing how you find every reason to bring the word "race" into every topic. Seems to me you have a bigger issue of race than the one you accused.

 

I would say that poverty is the bigger common denominator than race.

Generally speaking, any time when a culture promotes (or is perceived to promote) counterproductive behavior, we shouldn't act like a problem doesn't exist.

Too bad our prison system is turning more and more to the for-profit sector, except, of course, for the hardcore violent uncontrollable prisoners or prisoners with cancer or AIDS. Private prisons won't accept those kinds of prisoners. Somehow, the private prison companies have convinced the taxpayers to let them choose which prisoners they'll house. It really helps the cost-per-prisoner number when you take out the uncontrollable and the sick...

For-profit prisons are one of the worst things this country is doing right now. It's unbelievable.

And there's a Netflix show called Lilyhammer that is based in Norway and shows the prison life a bit. It's pretty damned funny.

 

What culture are you speaking of?

 

My thoughts.....

1. The US has a much more diverse population, therefore a more diverse prison pop. So comparison with smaller countries is always going to be in the extreme abstract.
2. US prisons are filled with gangs. It's a huge problem. Some prisons are pretty much run by gang members. How many Nortenos, Surenos, ABs, Crips, Bloods are in European prisons?
3. I think a portion of US prisons need to evolve more toward a more progressive model, but even then your still going to need to warehouse a portion of the population.
4. Private prisons are bull****. Everyone of them should bulldozed into dust.

Well that's just due to your own intellectual laziness. To not be a fan of a culture that encourages drug use, pimping, having children out of wedlock, limiting education, etc is not racist in any way.
