Funny how you call us stoners and pulling songs from long ago when you bring up Disney songs that are older than some that have been listed. Well that and you can't spell "pocahontus." But I will say you're right. Disney is great for deep songs. You'd never believe how deep "The Circle of Life" on The Lion King is.
"They'll Need a Crane" By They Might Be Giants. It sounds silly on first listen, but then once you realize it's actually about a divorce, it takes on new meaning. Good stuff.
Agree with the earlier post of Tool's Lateralus. Would probably be one of the more interesting songs to write a paper about. I'd probably write about what is my favorite song of all time, Radiohead's Street Spirit. Mainly because I never get tired of reading Thom Yorke's thoughts on the song: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/IrTB-iiecqk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
You're the one eyed feather You're the lion's mane Swear you've heard the weather Calling out your name There'll be no more winters There'll be no more spring and There'll be no more dinner bells <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qW4zg5w43p8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I've got more! Rhianna--Umbrella (not that anyone would take my explanation seriously) Jones Girls--Nights Over Egypt (let's just say it has nothing to do with Cleopatra or even King Solomon). Stevie Wonder--Superstition (pretty obvious if you read the lyrics) Dave Koz--Only Tomorrow Knows (Talking about the choices we make in life and how they affect the future).
Didn't read all the posts but here's two oldies for ya, <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9nRM8zfG9xE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/L5J5ZW8O4cU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Didn't mean to quote the person I did. Didn't want to post again to say that. But to contribute more here is a more modern song, <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5sfw0Lq4I54" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
