Simple question, who is/will finish as the better player? Idea just came to me after reading that they have never played against each other yet in the two years Irving has been in the league and probably won't meet until next season, barring anymore injuries between the two. They are the two future #1 and 2 point guards in my mind(though players like Lillard and Holiday are growing on me), but which will rank where is my question.

I probably would have said Rose pre-ACL injury, but after the fact, all bets are off.

Can't really say for sure until we see what Rose can do after his injury, so I'll take Kyrie over Rose.

Irving needs to improve his overall game outside of scoring though. Right now he's all scoring and not a whole lot else.

Rose will finish (regardless of what happens) an MVP of this league who lead his team to and through the playoffs. Kyrie hasn't done anything yet. SO as of today I pick Rose. Irving hasnt proven anything yet.

If Rose comes back like Peterson and still has the same athletic ability, I take Rose without hesitation.

Rose is definitely better... but idk about how he'll bounce back from his injury. The fact that they haven't played against each other makes this harder

Unlike John Wall, who I never bought the hype on, I believe Kyrie Irving can surpass Rose. The guy will be an MVP level player in future years. He is very special.

Wall probably has higher upside as both a passer and a defender than either. Jury's still out on whether he'll ever cut down on the mistakes and be able to score efficiently, but I'm not giving up on him yet.

As of now, Kyrie is limited to being an excellent one-on-one scorer, mind boggling ball-handler, and pretty slick passer.

Kyrie has not yet drawn the attention of an entire defense in that way that DRose has already proven he can do. The way he attacks the rim and draws fouls, defenses have no choice but to collapse in on him, which opens up tons of possibilities for the Bulls.

Both players can get a clean look for themselves in the clutch, and are pretty cold blooded. ere

Age will take a more significant toll than average on each of them. Both make a living with their speed, which will eventually fade. I doubt Rose will ever stray from his current style of play, and as a result, I am fearful this won't be the last time we see out for extended periods with injury.

If the Bulls can do some serious damage with Rose before his injury window expires, I think he will go down as the more impactful player.

My bet is that Kyrie has a longer career in a secondary role, even while leading a team in scoring.

Irving could potentially have the longer career because of his shooting, but he's already had myriad injuries, so it's hard to say.

Irving is already better than Rose ever was.

Can't really tell like others have said until Rose comes back. I would like to say Irving at this point because their careers are almost very similar individually. Both started out with near identical rookie seasons. Irving is having a better 2nd year than Rose's 2nd year, but both progressed to being all-stars. Very similar, but yeah, I would wait to make that prediction depending on how Rose looks after this ACL injury.

I just can't imagine Rose getting to be 100%. I think Irving will be a better player.

You think Irving is capable of winning an MVP and leading his team to the playoffs with a deep run?

Rose had one good season, MVP season. It wasn't MVP caliber and it's a joke if you compare it to Lebron or Durant season right now, but it was enough to be top 10 player.

Other than than he had three seasons with TS% below the league average. He is subpar defender, not really great rebounder and solid playmaker.

Not to mention his series in the season he won MVP vs. Miami, he averaged 23.4 PPG(35% FG, 23% 3P) on 43.6 TS% which is just pathetic, one of the worst performance from MVP ever.

Irving is better, more efficient offensive player, but doesn't have the best rebounding and defensive team behind him.
