And very happy about the Dmo call. Morey forced mchales hand by trading morris for that second rounder. Mchale was going to be forced to start either dmo or robinson. I like this call.

I don't think either of you are right...I think the morris deal was in place for a while and mchale knew.

There have been 50 reports talking them telling just keep on dmo....you'll get your time...and he himself basically interpreted that as the trade was the fulfillment of their encouragement.

But I do not believe the patterson deal was discussed with mchale and that took him off guard...and i dont think they would have approved if it was the coaching staffs choice. Probably wanted to trade morris to make dmo the back up...and fight for the starter job.

Pretty unlikely seeing as how DMo has a uniquely varied skill set that T-Rob can't hope to match even with hustle and rebounding.

 

What I mean is that McHale has been wanting to give Dmo minutes, but unable to with 2 players in front of him. If he played Dmo sooner, Morris/Patterson's value drops off and you probably won't be able to get anything in return for them. McHale doesn't want to be the bad guy, but I'm sure he isn't complaining now that he can(or has to) play Dmo. McHale feels he is ready, otherwise Dmo wouldn't be starting after 2 games.

 

This would be a most strangest sight in NBA. Three Whites, one African American, and a American Asian.
