I'm not going to get into it with you again, you have had the entire thing explained to you literally dozens of times now, if you don't get it by now, you never will.

No, most people are intelligent enough to use context to understand meaning, others need help. Some need more help than others. Most people would read the McHale quote, then read this past quote and be able to figure out that there was no "insult" and that there is no controversy.....

Other people disregard it entirely so that they can hold on to their preconceived notion that McHale hates Lin or whatever fan fiction they have going on in their minds.

Here is my interpretation, Mchail mentions 29pts and exaggerates the 9 tos to imply the linsanity days, what he is really saying is Lin would sometimes rather bust out linsanity than do what is necessary for the team to win. That is much more in line with his quote than the mumbo jumbo theories u guys are coming up with to defend him.

Wait how does his previous quote gives him a pass for his current quote??? Lin by nature is a home run hitter which means scorer, he needs to just bunt which is to be a facilitator. This time he said, Lin sometimes would rather hit home runs at the expense of the team. Dude, if anything I see consistency in what the coach thinks of Lin. Seriously, reading comprehension anyone?

Fair enough, continue to think that, I'll continue to think that you are either clueless or that you are merely trolling this thread.

He says that Lin's nature is to be a home run hitter, McHale believes it would be better for the team if he was a "singles and doubles" hitter. He says that Lin has made a lot of progress but sometimes he reverts back to "home run" hitting and he has to be reminded that it would be better for the team if he wasn't swinging for the fences. This isn't hard to understand, it's not controversial, no on is being insulted. I honestly don't think there is any way that you can't understand that.

Dejavu...I'm sure I've read this message from you before. A broken record calling someone else a broken record. Sounds like when you criticized someone for name calling while you followed by calling Mchale, Mcfail. This forum sure is interesting.

Let's just keep it at Lin and Mchale are rockets, the team we follow.

Can we just drop this thread? Move on, deal with the facts that Mchale and lin will be here for a while. No one is retiring, getting fired, traded. No one is "senile or getting signs of Alzheimer's". Let's just continue to root for this team and not fight each other

Believe what you want, his nature is a pc way to say Lin would prefer/rather. That said, this time there were no punches pulled, McHale said it exactly the way he meant it, with specific points and exaggerated tos to make a point. Still don't believe it, once again, go watch his post game interview after the thunder game, very telling on how he feels about Lin.

I never had anything against McHale, but his publicly made comment is tasteless. This should have been dealt with privately if he thinks Lin is not doing the things he needs to for the team to win. That's my point. But everyone is just defending his quote and spinning it.

So what business does McHale have calling out Lin for scoring 29 points on greater than 50% efficiency, with less than 3 TOs to boot, and being a big part of the win over OKC which is one of the top three teams in the NBA??

On what planet does that make any god.damned sense at all? McHale is approaching a Royce White level of crazy. actually, that might be an insult to Royce White. I don't think even White could ever be that insane.

Ok everyone has their opinion. Some people think Mchale is criticizing Lin, some think the source is making crap up. There's many possible interpretations, it's all perspective.

LOL, hilarious. Actually it's a way of saying what comes naturally to a player. Pretty much everyone would understand that's what he was saying. Talking about a player's style isn't merely saying what they "like" to do. If I said being a post scorer was Hakeem Olajuwon's nature, I wouldn't be saying that's what he "liked" to do, it's what he did best, it's what came naturally to him.

Do I agree with a coach saying something like this? No. Does it happen? Yes. Is it a big deal? No not really.
