And you only mention what you know from the movies.

Star Trek has both cloaking technology and transporters. It wouldn't even be a fair fight.

Star Wars also has cloaking technology, "No ship that small has a cloaking device!" If you bring the Expanded Universe into it, they also have sensors that are able to detect cloaked ships by their affect on gravity.

Star Wars operates under an entire galaxy.

Star Trek's Federation mostly inhabits within a quarter between two quadrants. There was an early Next Generation episode where they mentioned Starfleet had only explored 15% or so % of the Milky Way.

Seems the scope of Star Wars is much bigger, but I like Star Trek's world better. More realistic and closer to home.

I think it's far simpler. Forget the fiction – look at the body of work:

    The Star Trek side

    A bunch of good movies
    A bunch of bad movies

    Two awesome TV series
One TV series I've heard is awesome but never watched (DS9)
    One mediocre TV series
    One lousy TV series (Enterprise)

    Zero good video games

    The Star Wars side

    One transcendent movie (Empire)
One very good movie (Star Wars)
One mediocre movie I can't admit wasn't very good for nostalgia reasons (Jedi)
    Three God-awful movies

    Four bad TV series
The worst Christmas special in history

    Awesome toys
    A well-loved book series
X-Wing, Tie Fighter, X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter, Star Wars Arcade, Super Bombad Racing, Rogue Squadron, Rogue Leader, Force Unleashed

    I prefer Star Trek.

^Knights of the Old Republic...one of the best RPGs I've played.

Star Trek Armada was a decent RTS.

If you ever start watching DS9, it only gets non-boring at the end of the first season.

But the last seasons are pretty epic.

Armada was a good game and so was Birth of the Federation. Perhaps you might like Sins of a Solar Empire.

Personally, I am more of a Star Wars fan. I watched the Star Wars trilogy on VHS growing up over and over and over. Of the Star Trek movies I really only enjoyed the Wrath of Khan and I am almost ashamed to say I like First Contact. I'm a Patrick Stewart fan. The newest Star Trek movie was awesome as well and is hands down better than pod racer, and revenge of the Sith IMO.

Star Trek and it wouldn't even be close. All they had to do is teleport Yoda and Vader's butt to another planet.

Even the Ewoks could bring down the whole Starfleet, this is ridiculous. Star Wars wins.

I think Star Wars: The Force Awakens has made more money than all Star Trek movies combined.

True Nerds appreciate Star Trek more.
Love star wars, but the technical geek in me can talk for hours about star trek gadgets, warp speed, and dissecting Klingon language sentence structure. Qapla'!

Star Trek would annihilate Star Wars in a battle of conversation.
