nonsense. a point guard tries to score when he has an open shot and/or his teammates are not open. especially if the pg is a decent shooter/scorer and he is open, he has to take the shot. that's just common sense. and lin is a very competent scorer averaging over close to 50% in the last 10 to 12 games.

a coach who tries to tell his pg to do otherwise is an incompetent idiot who should be fired.

But has Lin actually been turning it over so much?

So McHale can exaggerate to any level just to make a point?

McHale wasnt exaggerating the 9 TOs to make a point about Lin's recent performance, it was in reference to Linsanity.

totally wrong. mchale specifically mentioned the OKC game where lin scored 29 points, so it was not in reference to linsanity it was in reference to the last OKC game.

29pts 9TOs? Lin never had that many TOs with the rockets, I think his highest is what 6? And even those numbers are rare now. During Linsanity days, those were pretty much his TOs every game, insane amount. Anyway, from my POV, McHail is saying Lin would rather go Linsanity than do what the team needs from him to win. Thats just my interpretation and no one needs to agree with that.

Actually it's not usually a problem if 1 guard goes in for a rebound because in that case the other guard should get back for transition defense. So instead of McHale telling the other guard (guess who) to get back he tells Beverley not to rebound.

didn't say what Beverly was doing is right, stupid and wrong but not selfish.

which is why McHale was lying when he when he said Lin made 9 TO's when he scored 29 PTS in the OKC game. and this isn't the first time he has alienated his PG. that's why Lowry left the team. he hated McHale for the same reason.

McFale is a cancer to the team and he needs to go.

It just shows how far gone McHale is in regard to being objective about Lin when he would use our biggest win of the season to use as an example to criticize him. Makes no sense at all - McHale has totally lost it.

to use mchale baseball analogy - we have a great home run hitter that is allowed to strike out because he's such a good home run hitter. mchale's role for jeremy places more emphasis on taking care of the ball than anyone else' role because he's the pg.

if you have a pg turning the ball over and a sg that's also turning the ball over - you have a mess.

i guess you can see it as - lin can't turn the ball over and needs to make better decisions mainly because he IS the pg. just like you don't hold lin and asik to the same rebounding standards.

i'm sure mchale is not happy any time anyone turns the ball over but he's harder on lin when he does that because he's the pg.

frankly, i think mchale's wrath is totally misdirected. i've seen a lot of improvement from lin on limiting his dumb turnovers since the beginning of the year. there's really no need for him to keep harping on it but whatever.

where did McHale say anything about Linsanity??

he mentioned the recent OKC game by name where Lin socred 29 pts so we know he was not talking about Linsanity.

I wasn't criticizing what you were saying. I'm saying that McHale should have been telling the SG that he has to get back if the PG goes in for a rebound. Not tell the PG NOT to rebound. Anybody who has played basketball should know that. Basketball fundamentals 101.

Despite the shamelessness and zero credibility, I think if Filip Bondy dared to put it in quotation marks, there must be some truth to it.

its just incredibly bizarre and nonsensical.

his comment would only make sense if we lost the OKC game but we didn't. we won it and Jeremy's 29 point performance was a big part of that. and he had like only 2 or 3 TOs in that game so what the hell is McHale whining about? he's out of his god d.am.n mind.

I wonder if the lost of his daughter has caused him to go off the deep end. it makes me think he is deliberately trying to sabotage the team. maybe its time for him to retire.

That's a pity, compared with the fact that the Rockets is #2 in drawing attendance to other arenas among all 30 teams.

Totally agreed. Glad you are the first one to say this.

The Rockets are #2 in helping other teams
